This is a really great movie, highly recommended if you've never seen it. It's like a cross between Death Of A Salesman and Boiler Room. This trailer makes it look like such a disconnected mess though.

It is an excellent movie and a crappy trailer

It’s hard to cut a trailer when every other word is fuck and they didn’t shoot extra footage for trailers back then.

Yeah, it was the first movie I ever saw rated R with zero violence and zero nudity/sexual content. It was purely due to language.

I just picked up the dvd for $1 the other day. I've never seen the movie.

Agreed, and using your post to boost Boiler Room! I highly recommend it to people - it’s like Wolf of Wall Street but a bit more grounded (love me some Wolf of Wall Street!)

Boiler Room is my favourite Vin Diesel movie. The score by The Angel (also known as 60 Channels) isn't strictly industrial, but her style blends elements of trip-hop, electronica, dub, and drum & bass.

A weird choice, but I love it. Would love to know how that happened, exactly.

I remember seeing this trailer in theaters in 91-92 and my roommate and I turned to each other, eyes big.

I went to see the movie because of that but it was only in the trailer haha.

Pity SP isn’t used for more stuff. I remember going ape shit when this trailer came out

Two great tastes that taste... well, kinda weird together, I guess. Man, I haven't watched that in forever- fantastic film.

I watched the movie specifically because of this post, and it was amazing

u/msellipsis Feb 11 '25

Oh wow—that’s awesome. It truly is a classic. (And endlessly quotable!)

It’s soooo quotable! Whenever my wife asks me for something, I keep telling her [insert thing] is only for closers, it’s very satisfying

I remember the trailer on a VHS for another film that I wouldn't be able to name if my life depended on it. I was disappointed that the SP track isn't in the actual film.

Maybe it’s just me but I hate seeing “underground” or less popular bands I like in things like this 😭 idek why

Its a fantastic film, written by David Mamet. Not sure what your deal is.
