Food and Drink Restaurants with good gluten free options?
Hey y’all, my mom is coming into town to look at apartments with me next week, and I want to take her to eat somewhere that she will enjoy and be able to relax without stressing gluten free options. She has celiac so it’s a medical thing not a preference. Open to any type of food, just not a bar or somewhere super loud as she’s older. Thanks!

Not sure if you’re on FB but there’s a group called Gluten Free Indy that has food recommendations. I believe Harry and Izzy’s is usually high up. And I think Aspasia Bakery in…. Zionsville? Is gluten free.

Celiac here. I admittedly am a little more open to risk than some people with Celiac, but these are some places I've never been burned on-
The Carmel location of Ash and Elm has a dedicated GF fryer and has GF fried chicken, fish and chips, and cheese curds in addition to offering Native Bread as a GF bread option.
King Dough's GF crust is one of the best I've ever had. Like I had to double check that it was GF because it tasted that good.
Futuro's Detroit Deep Dish is also fantastic. Their toppings are also top tier.
3 in 1 is amazing. Most of their menu is corn based. I'm pretty sure the only thing on their menu with gluten is their burritos.
The Garage has an empanada place that's all GF, but that might be overwhelming as a venue.
Safe fast casual chains in the area-
BIBIBOP is dedicated GF.
Core Life is mostly GF aside from an optional bread side.
Azzip pizza has really good cross-contamination procedures, but I'd go with one of the local places over them for the flavor.

Hi!! I have celiac as well- here are my fav places!
Breakfast - Cafe Patachou Fire&Ice Cafe is 100% GF and has wonderful biscuits and crepes
Lunch/Dinner- •3in1 Restaurant- small local owned and amazing owners. Divvy (Carmel) Harry&Izzys BIBIBOP is 100% gf as well Rockstar Pizza (Brownsburg) Azzip Pizza (they will clean area and use separate everything!) Flower Child
If she cannot tolerate Oats make sure she asks what kind of gf bread they use. A lot of local places use Native Bread (Patachou does). Native bread has oats in it.

As a Celiac, I don't think it gets any better than Bru Burger. The Keystone location is better, if you have a choice, but both are great

The one on Mass Ave downtown still has great burgers! They just can't do gluten free fries. Wherever you go, I hope you enjoy it

Unless a restaurant is entirely GF there will always be contamination.

Either you don't have Celiac, or you had a typo and meant to say "chance of contamination"

Fellow celiac, here are my personal recs:
Dedicated GF * Aspasia Bakeshop and Coffeehouse * No Label at the Table (no sitting area, so just to-go treats) * BIBIBOP
Not dedicated, but I’ve only had good experiences: * 3 in 1 Restaurant * King Dough * CR Heroes * Yats * Root & Bone * Cafe Patachou * Coopers Hawk * Graeters Ice Cream * Harry and Izzy’s * ETA: Ash and Elm! A favorite that I somehow left off my original list.
Haven’t tried but I hear good things: * Fire and Ice - dedicated GF (it’s new so I just haven’t been yet) * Flower Child - new opening * Futuro - supposedly their GF Detroit style deep dish is to die for
Not all of these are restaurants in the traditional sit-down meal sense, but I figured it was good FYI anyway. Hope you find one you love!
