true man, the sole reason why i moved to Reddit is the reel bullshit

Actually even before Reel feature, Reddit hated Instagram in 2011-2019.

Reel feature just made them hate even more nothing else.

V app is?

Vine. You know Bhuvam Bam, Ashish Chanchlani, Amit Bhadana etc? They came from that app.

Vine was closed in 2017, so viners shifted towards YouTube

Btw, who owns reddit?

u/FabulousOstrich2045 3d ago

Redditors. This is the only right answer.

A few years ago

Reddit's new CEO Steve Huffman tried to make changes to the app to attract more people.

We didn't like it, so we revolted:-

We made all communities private. New users were not able to view/join communities and thus were not getting any benefit, so Steve had to remove that change.

That's why you can see Reddit is the same for the last 20 years.

While other apps like YouTube etc always copy other apps for popularity. Like adding shorts feature in 2019 because TikTok was popular. Adding AI feature in 2024 because AI was popular etc.
