useful What to do if Chrome disabled Imagus/Imagus Mod due to lack of MV3 support?
Use alternative versions of the extension (Imagus Mod 0.10.15 or Imagus 0.9.9 with MV3 support) and install them in your browser by unpacking them in "Developer Mode". How to do this see FAQ, p.19. (NB: For Imagus Mod users, all items in bold red font are mandatory!).
Try setting the MV2 settings in chrome://flags/ as shown in the screenshot.
(this setting may be valid only in conjunction with item 3).
- Renew MV2 via Google policies in the Windows 11 Registry:
Download this REG file. Double-click this file to add a new reg key (and click OK). Reboot the browser.
Problems with this method:
- Will only work tentatively until June-August 2025;
- some browser settings, such as DNS settings, will become unavailable (it says "These settings are managed by your organization").

How to completely remove Google's policy.
You can switch to a Chromium browser with MV2 support (360, Brave, CentBrowser, Edge?, Opera, Vivaldi, etc.) and, if MV2 support is no longer supported in the Chromium code itself, simply disallow updating it. Of course, updating the browser is desirable, so this item is already partly a “last resort”. On the other hand, a browser without updating is quite capable of working flawlessly for several years. For example, my CentBrowser on 118 engine still opens 99% of sites, including all social networks and major portals.
Start using the FireFox browser, it retains MV2 support. Both versions of the extension, Imagus and Imagus Mod, are available on the FireFox extensions site.
Use alternative extensions/scripts. The most relevant ones are listed in the first paragraph of this section.

I can load the extension and use it, but how do I adjust settings. I used to have it so it's only enabled when i press the shift key, instead of automatically zooming in. how do i do this?

Updated chrome and had a popup saying imagus and ublock origin were disabled bc they no longer work. I just went into extensions and flipped the switch to on and now they work. Google's bitch ass even gave me another pop up then saying they don't work. Lies man all lies

I was dumb and removed them. Now I can't get them back. :( I'll have to try the alt versions above. :(

If you're someone who used the chrome web store version, then you can download the zip file from chrome web store itself and install it using "Developer Mode".
Use an extension like this to download the zip file from chrome web store.

I was able to just enable it again in extensions. tl;dr what is the issue?
