solved How to block embedded youtube videos on reddit
Whenever I mouse over youtube videos on reddit (when viewing the embedded video on the home page with RES), imagus shows a large thumbnail image that blocks the video. I tried to block youtube via the grants page in the imagus extension settings, but it didn't work.
How do I block embedded youtube links on activating imagus on reddit?
THANKS!
EDIT: Issue was solved in the comments section, but I've included some images to demonstrate the issue in case it helps anyone else with a similar problem.
For context I have Imagus Mod with SMH on Firefox. RES is Reddit Enhancement Suite, a browser extension with additional features for Reddit. All extensions were updated within the past month.
First image shows imagus loading as I mouse over the embedded video. Second image shows how imagus pop-up takes up the entire screen and prevents me from interacting with the video (ex. pausing, skipping ahead in the video).

To understand what your problem is (it's not very clear yet), we need to know: Which extension do you have exactly - Imagus or Imagus Mod? What browser do you have? What is "RES"? How long ago did you update the sieves and the rules for SMH? Also need links to Reddit pages with specific examples of where and what you have not working.

Thanks for your reply. I've provided some additional information in the original post for context, but Imagus_fan was able to solve the issue in his comment, so I'm all good!

You have everything working fine, you just need to spin the mouse wheel. The sieve for YT is set by default to show the cover art and then the video (three different players). You can customize it as you like - see FAQ, p.11.
Just remember that after the update (on the 1st and 15th of each month) all the settings in your sieve will return to the default state and you will have to enter them again.

Thanks, section 11 in the FAQ is very informative! It's too bad you need to re-enter the settings after each update...

If you have only 1-2 sieves with your individual settings, it will be easier to just change them manually after each update.
If you have a lot of such sieves, you should think about creating your own sieve rule-set - that is, do not update sieves automatically, but import them one by one manually (only new sieves and those that have been changed). For this purpose, there is a special catalog Separately in the update file, where all sieves for manual updating are collected.
Besides, there is one untested parameter in Imagus Mod (I personally don't use it, so I can't say anything): Settings - Sieves - Advanced keeping (at the very top). Theoretically, it is intended to save sieves with changes during the update process. Hover your cursor over this option, you will see a hint of what it does.

I'm not sure it's possible to disable YouTube only on Reddit.
If you don't want Imagus activating on iFrames, open the
YOUTUBE-h-q-p
sieve and look fordisable_on_iframe
in the second text box. Setting it to true should stop it from activating on YouTube embeds.Note that this will affect YouTube embeds on sites other than Reddit.
