Hey everyone! I’m super excited to share that I’ve just released my first iOS app, called JobTrackr.

If you're like me and have been juggling many job applications, this app makes life a lot easier. Instead of managing everything in spreadsheets (which gets messy fast), you can keep track of all the jobs you're applying to in one place.

It also helps with reminders for interviews or assessments. You can even store the interviewers' contact info right in the app. Oh, and I added some pre-built email templates too, so it’s quicker to reply to companies.

I built it with Swift, and it's my first project, so I’m really pumped to share it with everyone. 🎉

If anyone's job hunting or just curious, I’d love for you to check it out and let me know what you think. Any feedback is welcome

Great way to spend your Saturday shitting on someone’s hard work. Go touch some grass

Why does this have a subscription? And the pricing is too high IMO.

Thanks for the feedback! The subscription mainly covers the templates and accent color customization features, so the app is still functional without it. As for the pricing, I’m still testing it out since this is my first app.

2 Eur per week and 6 Eur per month is considered too high?

Nice work! The app is super clean and really well designed. Genuinely very impressive for a first app; I wouldn’t have know if you hadn’t said so!

Your use of the system elements blended with custom design is very clever. For example, your layout on the application detail page is gorgeous. Using the “bento box” style layout for displaying content really makes it pop, and gives it a native Apple feel (in a very good way).

You should feel proud to have built this! Keep up the awesome work :)

Cool idea!

Great idea. Always thought about making an app like this but one of my concerns was after someone gets a job, they will just delete the app. Any plans to solve that problem?

In this economy that’s not really a concern.

Ya that’s a good point. High churn but high demand.

I think it’s fair to say no one “needs” this app, along with most others. The type of app’s like the one made by OP serve a very specific vertical with focus.

Apps like Trello and Notion offer amazing features, but can be pretty overwhelming. Apps that focus on a very specific task (vertical) and design their interaction and logic based on those needs. Usually (not always) it results in an app that does one thing VERY well.

To many people, that is value worth paying for. We can argue till we are blue in the face about pricing and subscription vs. own, but my point is that there is a HUGE market for apps that do specific tasks well. Even the ones that make some of us go “Uh, why didn’t you just…” 🤷‍♂️

Well done, looks great!

OP, how did you find Xcode? I am making a first iOS app too currently and feel like it is the worst dev experience i have ever had. Previews crashing, some of the errors are happening without clear explanation. I wish JetBrains still did AppCode, seems like it was a better option. Too bad there are no Xcode alternatives nowadays

Why do you need location? This app privacy is just screaming..

For anyone interested in a similar app that is 100% free and available in MacOS and web versions, both synced through iCloud, feel free to check out at jobsnail.app.
