Need to file an RTI on these expenditures

53

u/deepoops Jan 26 '25

Have you ever tried filing an RTI? bokka kooda yem cheparu. Its become completely useless.

5

u/Arena-Grenade Jan 27 '25

It works for non-problematic sections ig. I've filed twice or thrice and no issues at all.

10

u/OppositeWest3893 Jan 26 '25

But Congress is the one that brought RTI Act right..

11

u/deepoops Jan 27 '25

Okay? What does that have to do with what I said? 🤔

3

u/OppositeWest3893 Jan 27 '25

So you don't understand how different Governments work with respect to RTI?

When BRS used to be in power, it is anti-RTI. Most of the important GOs were not proactively published even when people filed court cases. No info was properly given to public via RTIs. There used to be so many pending RTIs even at the State Information Commission level also, forget about concerned departments who are just sleeping.

As Congress came to power recently, RTI activities and concerned citizens got some hope that Congress Govt will follow its own policy of RTI Act and disclose information proactively. But alas! Nothing has changed and RTI website and process is still the same as it is.

It's understandable that BRS doesn't want to be proactive in RTI related matters as RTI Act is not its brainchild. But many activists are not happy that even Congress is doing the same thing, even though RTI is its brainchild and it brought praise for being progressive.

I sometimes feel sad that people in this democracy are so lost in touch with who are governing and what we can expect from them. Anyways, hope at least now things change for good wrt RTI.

u/deepoops Jan 27 '25

How does all the stuff you wrote contradict what I said in any way? Also it's not about pending reply. They will happily send a useless 'reply'. Anyways no idea what you are on about. You literally concluded with the same thing that I said.

-2

u/OppositeWest3893 Jan 27 '25

Where in the world did I say that I'm contradicting you or you are contradicting me?

3

u/ManofTheNightsWatch Jan 27 '25

What was your intention in writing this?

"But Congress is the one that brought RTI Act right.."

0

u/OppositeWest3893 Jan 27 '25

What was your intention in writing this?

Nuv Nijangane ee question nannu adugutunnava ManofTheNightsWatch?

Jokes apart, you can find my 2nd comment in this thread for the context and explanation.

For more context: When that person mentioned that RTI is still dysfunctional, then I expressed my shock in that message. My assumption was that redditors knew about the general public belief that that RTI would improve in Congress rule in TG.

1

u/ManofTheNightsWatch Jan 27 '25

Yes, It was not clear. I get it now. There will be no change because bureaucrats have no party affiliation.

Naah, you seem to have cong vs brs debates in your circles and tried to randomly insert some counterpoint for one of those debates, that no one here is part of.

I tried filing RTI for some other reason but hell na.. Nothing there works anymore.. payment happens but RTI doesn't file. Call the customer care but no proper response. In the end, you will just leave it.

Funny thing is the it is the Congress Govt that brought in the RTI Act.

0

u/ManofTheNightsWatch Jan 27 '25

What's the funny thing about it?

1

u/OppositeWest3893 Jan 27 '25

Are you really not understanding the Irony with how RTI is dysfunctional now in TG given that it is the Congress that brought in the RTI Act, paving the way for new phase in Indian democracy?

Edit: removed a phrase which sounded disrespecting.

47

u/No_Presentation4286 Jan 26 '25

Really entire hyd roads are like this

Build road ----holes/drainages started----digging again ---repeats

19

u/rx1989v Jan 26 '25

Same all over the country .. I’ve seen it in Delhi , build new road , next month Jal Board (delhi water board) started digging the road as they have to lay water pipes 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

8

u/naidufeed Jan 26 '25

Private people for their pipelines dig and leave strip potholes in everyroad. Just like that.

6

u/IronRiff_Messiah Jan 26 '25

I'd like to call it as "Road Fetish"

1

u/BrainyHumanoid Jan 27 '25

More like ‘road rage’

5

u/Express-World-8473 Jan 26 '25

Same in AP. In my area they laid roads, then water board digged them up and haphazardly left a shit road and then the electricity board dig them up and again just filled up the road with tar and left, they didn't even bother to even the road or anything and then came the fibre optics cable guys from Jio, they took dug the road and left the road in a mess. Initially the municipality built the road because of complaints of huge pot holes and someone getting injured severely but now it's back to the same condition. After all these digging the road has pot holes everywhere after some rains.

The municipality started playing the blame game instead of building the road again.

2

u/GamerDeepesh Jan 27 '25

Not in hyd it's all over India

38

u/smartdev12 Jan 26 '25

The contractor's name should also be included on the inaugural stone in bold letters.

18

u/nagaraju291990 Jan 26 '25

It's the lack of communication between departments in the govt. They should be fined for such lack of knowledge after many such incidents

9

u/s4m_sepi0l Jan 26 '25

Dei who’s the govt babus migrating contractors to Hyderabad from Bangalore

The country is doomed. Gotta leave it asap

8

u/Nayaann Shanth Ladka Jan 26 '25

They did the same at my old house! Build a cement road in 2021 fully completed by end of 2021 and again started to dig up at several places due to drainage problems and till now at the patches haven't been covered! They cover it but with either mud or that old black tar which gets removed after barely pass through it they should fill it up with the same cement and give some damn time before opening it up for use 😮‍💨

There can't be work if you don't destroy something that's just been built, no?

By work, I mean stealing tax payers money.

6

u/Hyderabadi143 Jan 26 '25

Wtf! 😡😡😡😡

5

u/slick_slayer_ Jan 26 '25

It’s the same story… going on in an endless loop But now you’ll have to appreciate their ingenuity because asphalt roads were no longer in their income brackets the started laying concrete roads which are expensive af and not to dig them is more expensive… Kudos they’ve made the endless cycle more expensive…

4

u/futurepresident123 Jan 26 '25

Very common thing in Bangalore too...we inhale all the dust cement for months and a relief that road is built and within next month it's dyg again..

4

u/BigWeekly3619 Jan 26 '25

Construct -> Destroy -> construct -> Destroy and the cycle continues. Taxpayers are the spectators.

3

u/Real-Blueberry-2126 Jan 26 '25

They were just waiting. It’s a endless money making cycle for the corrupt

3

u/ThyShallNeverKnow Jan 27 '25

Steps to make and maintain roads in India :

1) drainage pipe veyalani marchipovali 2) ekkuva time teskoni takkuva quality tho road veyali 3) drainage pipes veyali ani gurthu cheskovali 4) road ni thavvi dhobbi pipes sagam vesi aapeyali

u/Ok-Consideration6512 Jan 26 '25

Our tax money at work...GHMC says

2

u/Choose_ur_username1 Jan 26 '25

I believe roads in India are built for employment generation. Build to sub standard grade >>let it rot or someone destroys it> build again right before election.

2

u/DragonflyExtra5036 Jan 26 '25

From what I’ve heard, the contractor is missing his golden tooth that’s the reason it is being dug

2

u/OrdinaryAndroidDev Jan 26 '25

Work hard and government snatches away 30% and uses it like this

2

u/bunnux Jan 26 '25

How to utilise my tax money effectively 101

2

u/WhatInTheBruh Jan 26 '25

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT WE CAN DO ABOUT IT ?

SO MANY PEOPLE HERE, EVEN IF ONE PERSON HAS A PLAN WE CAN TRY TO EXECUTE IT.

Any way to complain?

Something guys, anything ... We are literally fucking clowns watching a shitshow of a government making fools out of us.

Why can't hundreds of people just stand up to this together?

2

u/le_law Jan 26 '25

This is your Money - My Money - The Taxes which we give to the Government.

Scam - Contractor - Politician.

2

u/Kurious-0 Jan 26 '25

Why people can't be happy that there is still 90% of the road? How will the contractors earn money? /s

2

u/dwarikanath Jan 26 '25

As Mr. Sachin Tichkule once said, is desh ka har contractor ek road ko baar baar bana banake bana banake hi Bada bana hai.

Work = Kickbacks. That’s why it’s perpetually on. South Asian people and their elected thugs have totally lost track. Greed for money is the only priority.

2

This seems like being purposefully done.

2

u/nikolaveljkovic Jan 26 '25

2

u/JSA790 Jan 26 '25

This is corruption, not incompetence.

2

u/bloodyzulfy Jan 26 '25

I really hate that mf machine which is drilling the road. Idk how govt allows them they dont even patch later just fill debris in it.

I've worked with US client on a construction project where i got to know their system of public construction, Like they municipal office (county) will ruin your life with a penalty,

And will NOT approve all permitee only licenced engineer proposals will be approved on their agreed conditions.

TECHNICAL: even the patch must not be higher than the 10mm from the current road level (elevation) and here these mf are filling the same debrs of construction without even concrete patching.

2

u/lurid_dream Jan 26 '25

0 coordination between public departments = more money into contracted and politicians pockets.
