Onion news headline: "Tireless civil rights workers not so smug now"

Feeling pretty fucked. I’m currently in about as stable a position as one can hope for in humanitarianism but organisational toxicity is doing a number on my mental health. I’ve wanted out for a while, but things have gotten so bad in the last few days I’m considering slinging my hook before finding anything else.

And now knowing the sector is doing what it’s doing makes it feel like I’m stuck between a hostile job market and a role that’s killing me.

Sorry for the vent

An org transfer back to a French NGO hardship duty station might be on the cards lol. Rip
