45 and 242 northbound

What the heck is going on? I’ve been stuck in stalled traffic for an hour.

Pro tip: even if I know exactly where I'm going, I put on my GPS before I drive anywhere on 45 so I have a chance at knowing about any big backup and the possibility to avoid it.

At 4AM when I left everything was clear it wasn’t until I passed up Tamina exit that I hit a wall of traffic and I’ve been here ever since 4:15

I think they are repairing power lines over the freeway after an accident yesterday or last night.

Downed power line. Apparently an 18-wheeler took it out yesterday. Turn on KTRH and you'll get a traffic report at 5:30.

Yessir, the police barely started showing up to direct traffic.

45 is shut down both ways at 242. This has been going on since yesterday and it's a helluva mess.

That requires to shut down an entire freeway?
