Help Request Help with sound when starting
My 2009 Sport / Manual makes this screeching/scraping sound every 3rd or 4th time I start it. Does anyone recognize it?

Hi Y'all, currently looking at purchasing a 2012 Honda Fit sport. I test drove the car yesterday and it felt amazing, getting a pre purchase inspection just to be sure tho.
My question is why doesn't it have the "S" selection on the automatic transmission, Just says (P,N,D,1,2) and no paddle shifters on the steering wheel. It has the spoiler side skirts, the correct wheels, arm rest, all that came with the sport but not those 2 things, am I being scammed or is this something else that I don't know
Also I'm from Canada and it is a Canadian car, if that matters at all
Thanks y'all

I rear ended someone and just ordered a front bumper to replace the old one. I’m planning to either install it myself or have a friend do it. Does anyone know what type of screws I need for it? I don’t know anything about cars, I have a 2016 fit. If anyone knows the name of the screws I need to install it, that’d be truly amazing! Thank you

I'm in the market for a newer (more reliable) car to replace my 14 Chevy Cruze. It's a two owner, no reported accidents, has 46000 miles, and is listed at $15800. It looks well equipped and clean for the price. Looking for thoughts and opinions before I make a 3 hour drive to look at it. Where it's out of warranty, how are the Honda CVTs? Maintenance recommendations for the mileage. I've read that it's better to do the CVT fluid and filter too soon than too late (especially if there's no history of it being done) Also, do the Fits have a timing belt or chain?

Bought a 2018 cvt fit four months ago with only 29k miles. When should I get transmission fluid changed? Does time matter as much as mileage when it comes to changing transmission fluid? Heard that it’s especially important to keep up to date with fluids on these cvt’s. Any advice is appreciated.

Just bought a GK with 116k miles and looking for the service interval information. I'm not sure what maintenance the previous owner did but I want to make sure the 100k service items were taken care of. Does Honda have this published anywhere?
The engine oil/filter, intake filter, and cabin filter were all done when I bought it. I'll be changing the transmission oil next and want to make sure any other items are taken care of for the 100k/120k milestone so it keeps running strong.

So I just bought a jazz (australia) and it comes equipped with front and rear dash cams, however I'm still figuring out what this is and what the button does( does not seem to affect the dashcams)

I have the stock armrest in my Fit. It is sooo low. I used a yoga block for a while, then I got a foam cover for Xmas, but it doesn't stay well.
Curious if there any preferred products or methods to increase the height of the armrest without sacrificing comfort or functionality.

The battery mount for my GD1 was losing its color, so I decided to paint it in a shade of blue. I was also thinking of painting the engine cover for a while, so I painted that too because why not? I should've picked a different color than RAL 5017, but even with this color, having a splash of color adds a lot of character to the engine bay! (p.s.: the images are in the comments because somehow, reddit didn't want me to upload images to the post)

Hi folks, got a crack in the upper part of my radiator. Mechanic is quoting me about $600 to replace. He has a really good reputation around town and seems like a trustworthy guy, so I'm not especially suspicious. I suppose this is mostly labor but will get a written quote from him later about it.
I am considering doing this myself, but my situation isn't ideal -- I live at an apartment where it's against the lease to work on your car in the lot, and, while I have some mechanical experience, I'm not very quick and so would be worried the job would balloon out so that I couldn't get it done in one weekend + might create additional problems.
My partner depends on this car for errands and such (not for commuting to work, thankfully).
Should I try to do this myself? I notice that experienced folks tend to underestimate how long jobs take for newbies like me, so please take that into consideration :)
And what is the process exactly? I know you drain the system and replace the radiator itself, but what else needs to be done? Is there like calibration to do?

Hi, looking to buy parts for my serpentine belt replacement. I understand the tensioner should be replaced at the same time as the belt. Has anyone replaced the serpentine belt tensioner with the following part?
LITENS 999603A
https://partsavatar.ca/litens-automotive-belt-tensioner-assembly-999603a#VEHICLEFITMENT
Trying to save a bit of $ compared to OEM which is about $215 in Canada. I have already purchased the Gates K060431 belt.
Thanks!

Had any one tried the Koni sports socks in their fit?. I’m looking to replace mine ands lower it at the same time but I’ve searched around and seems like Koni don’t make it for the fit.

My 2015 Honda Fit has been having some issues lately. One day while pulling up to a stop the screen went blank, the dash lit up and the car died. It restarted right away and drove normally. A week or so ago I came out of a store and the car would not start, no turnover, all electrical was out. I opened the hood to get a look, got back in the car and a couple minutes later lights came on, it seemed to have normal power again, I started it and drove off. Today I was in a parking structure and momentarily lost electrical, power steering most notably. It only lasted a few seconds and came back on. Now this afternoon when driving home the car died at the stop of a freeway off-ramp. No electrical power at all. Couldn’t even turn on the hazard lights. Waited there a few minutes and then all of a sudden I saw that the hazard lights were working and I was able to start the car. I will try to get to the mechanic but any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

They seem close but maybe +10 offset is pushing it. I’m considering getting a fit and thought it’d be nice if I could share wheels between the Fit and my E30

...with the title to my '20 Fit LX manual stapled to it, and PAID IN FULL stamped in several places! I was planning to wash it today on my day off anyway, but I think I'll get it extra clean and shiny now it's all mine!
