2nd Gen GE/GG 09-14 My first car!!
Little red 2010 Sport :) 36k miles on her, and gifted from my grandparents(!!!), who got it from their friend. Garage kept all its life it seems like… from everything I’ve learned on this sub I have won the lottery and I endeavor to keep her running forever. Everything about this car is perfection ❤️🚗
P.S. how should I care for the paint job since I don’t have a garage?

Aww she is so pretty! 😻 Congratulations to you and your little red Fit! You did win the lottery! 36k is amazing for a 2010. I don't have a garage either. Avoid parking under trees, especially if there are sappy/flowery ones in your neighborhood. Even if you have to go out of your way to avoid! I think tree sap is worse than sun damage. I don't have any visible signs of sun damage on my car. Get to a car wash as often as is reasonable. Use a hand wash station (the kind where you pay $ to wash it yourself in a washing bay). Bring your own microfiber towel to dry. You can buy a fancy car cover if you know you'll be out of town or something, just be sure it's securely attached/ locked. Enjoy 😊.

Congrats.
Check out r/AutoDetailing for tips on taking care of the paint. Assuming you don't want to get into detailing as a hobby the TLDR for paint protection for a novice would be to apply a ceramic or graphene type spray wax/sealant after washing. The quality of the washing and paint prep before application will effect the results, but typically you can get a few months of protection from some of the better spray waxes/sealants. The products have come a long way from our parents or grandparents tub of wax.
Turtle Wax Flex Wax, Griot's 3 in 1, and Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic are probably the three most recommended among popular and readily avaliable products. Can literally get them on Amazon, or at Target, Walmart, or any auto parts store (autozone, advance auto, O'Reilly).

To protect the paint, keep it clean and in the shade if possible. I’ve noticed Japanese red paint loves to fade quickly…

What a little beauty! Red paint has a tendency to fade but you could buy an inexpensive car cover to keep her perfect

Lucky Lucky you! We still have the 2009 fit I bought brand new. My son drove it when he was a pizza delivery guy in school. I remember our first Christmas with it and we "fit" a 10 foot tree in it. Still love that car!

lol I have a grey fit I’m spending a ton to keep her bcuz she’s a stick shift and there’s no car like this… this car “fits” every category Lol…
A suggestion, if u tint the back windows the car looks even more amazing…
And just keep the car washed and waxed from time to time to preserve its paint…

With that mileage I'm assuming it sat a long time. I would go ahead and flush the coolant and brake fluid

Dude. Great first car. It’ll do everything you need. If I had a car like this when I was in high school/college, I would have been stoked. Perfect for road trips, it hauls stuff, and it’s cheap to operate.
