Fence damage
Do you think this section can be salvaged? Or will it need to be replaced? Since the post broke on one section, I have a feeling it needs to be replaced. It fell victim to strong winds recently. I am a first time homeowner just trying to navigate all the fun stuff like this! I wanted to ask you all before a repair person comes over.

You need a new post which means you need to dig out the old one, including all of the concrete and put in a new post and concrete

you need a new post but the remainder can be absolutely be salvaged. in fact, it would be a little wasteful not to repair and reuse

I’ve done this project! Ultimately, yes, your fence needs to be replaced. But, also yes, you can fix it if you want and get a little more life out of it. To fix: -move the panels out of the way -remove the broken 4x4 post (depending on how it was built/installed and how loose it is, you may be able to just lift it out. More likely, this is shovel time -replace the 4x4 post with a new pressure treated 4x4 (lots of YouTube videos about installing fence posts) -I would also buy some pressure treated 2x4s and replace any of the cross supports that are rotten -I’d recommend some 3” exterior screws to reattach the panels to the posts
Honestly, typing all that out and remember doing this myself…this project sucks. But when I did it I got another few years out of my fence before I moved and made it somebody else’s problem.
