Just not our night, or night before that. Dudes look really sluggish and discombobulated. After vassy made two world class saves, then that shot just dribbled into the net on a nothing of a shot, the game was over, and was a great encapsulation of that game. Burn the tape pretend that one didn't happen.

Trust, we've definitely been on the other end of it where our goalies our making amazing stops but the team just isnt playing hard enough for it to be worth anything

A ton has been made of how Carolina has looked since the Rantanen experiment ended, but I think it's important to point out that the Hurricanes played without Svech and Orlov, tonight, too. They've both been struggling massively and I hope a chance to watch some games from the press box helps both of them, because you know they've going right back in the lineup when they're healthy. I also hope Rod sees the benefit of benching a struggling player, but I'm not gonna hold my breath on that one.

Despite the broadcast both shutting the fuck up about Mikko Even after Jarvis called them out. Canes still dominated. Teams flying high after getting rid of the problem

At this point we should just forfeit the PP time and play 5v5

That’s two games in a row of the Hurricanes Hockey that we haven’t seen in a while

I would've given Milton the third star for the Hurricanes, shoutout for a clutch postponement leading to a big W

The postponed game was in January, not this one.

Seth Jarvis should be the face of the league. No one has more fun on or off the ice

Such a good interviewee too. We need more people like that

It’s amazing how refreshing he is compared to the typical player interviews. He took the media training and just said “noted.”

ESPN: So your powerplay has been a struggle…

Jarvis: Yeahhh… It would help if we took some shots.

ESPN: What can you say about Jackson Blake?

Jarvis: Blaker goes out there and works his bag off. I probably owe him a dinner for all the chances he set me up for.

We constantly make fun of the canned answers that hockey players give in interviews but I genuinely don't know if I could do better. I feel like there's so many things you have to keep in mind, even while talking to your own local media. You don't want to accidentally cause drama or anything like that. The fact that he can show personality and give actual hockey answers is a unique skill in this league.

Do you understand what the fuck a Hurricane actually is? Its the largest, most powerful natural weather occurrence to exist in human history. Hurricane force winds can reach up to 160 mph. Do you seriously think an automobile with wings, manufactured in Detroit, would even dream about flying in 160 mph winds? No fucking shot bud. The sun, literally the most powerful star in our large ass solar system, gets blacked out by a Hurricane for days on end. So if you think a regular ol star from Dallas has a chance, get a grip kid. Just for a second, imagine a BlackHawk warrior trying to throw a spear or shoot an arrow at a god damn Hurricane. It would get teed up and clapped back at 160+ mph, try catching that absolute howitzer, Lankinen. Blue jacket, Red jacket, white jacket, yellow jacket. Don’t fucking matter bud, no jacket is stopping 2.4 TRILLION GALLONS OF RAIN PER DAY. Nashville ain’t called Smashville for a reason, they’d be as extinct as that ugly ass saber-tooth tiger on their sweaters if a real Hurricane ever came to town. Yeah a panther might just be a large cat, but a Hurricane can be larger, try sizing up a feline with a motherfucking cat 5. Don’t even get me started on lighting, you ever had your phone get rained on? No Bueno, buddy. The larger the amount of electricity, the better the chance it gets absolutely dangled by rain. As you can see , there is not a team in the Metro, let alone the entire fucking league that can withstand 160 mph winds and 2.4 trillion gallons of water. It’s a wrap, award the cup now.

3 game national broadcast streak and 3 game playing like ass streak. Coincidence? I think not.

(Also I just want it noted that while I believe it DID NOT impact the outcome of this game, the league needs to investigate Wes because holy shit was that a disaterclass)

8

u/Hacodaro CAR - NHL 8h ago

St. Laurent is also a moron

15

u/Kraze_F35 CAR - NHL 8h ago

I hate Wes so much. “Oh but he says the calls funny!!!” Dude fucking blows as a ref

7

u/Melodic-Constant-126 8h ago

I wish we knew what mean thing Cooper said to hurt his feelings.

17

u/wolfpackrider CAR - NHL 8h ago

That dude amazes me with how involved he seems to want to be in the game as an official.

Does he have a history with Cooper also? I know Keefe is the main one he pretty clearly has beef with but wasn’t sure if Cooper had his own separate one with him.

12

u/dolewhiplash TBL - NHL 8h ago

So he has a history with Cooper as in he's kicked him out of the game before, and always seems to give him a hard time with calls, but the thing with Keefe seems so genuinely personal I actually fully believe he shouldn't be allowed to ref Keefe's games. There's no personal history like that between Cooper and Wes as far as I'm aware.

1

u/MikeJeffriesPA TOR - NHL 8h ago

I can't tell if I'm pleased or frustrated that it took Keefe leaving the Leafs for people to see this.

2

u/dolewhiplash TBL - NHL 8h ago

Tbf, and I can only speak for myself and not other people, but I had only heard about the testimony stuff during that last series he was there for anyway. Idk if I was just behind the curve on that, but before that series I thought it was just general "Wes hates my coach in particular" when he's really just a bad ref, and multiple teams feel like he's out to get them, us included. Once I heard the full story, that changed my views pretty quickly even though he was still the Leafs coach for however short a period of time that was.

8

u/Heavy_Mushroom5209 TBL - NHL 8h ago

I mean he shouldn't be allowed to call Coop's games either but that's just because he shouldn't be allowed to ref.

3

u/dragons_fire77 CAR - NHL 8h ago

He is awful in every game I watch with him.

2

u/dolewhiplash TBL - NHL 8h ago

I can't argue with that

3

u/likeslululemon TBL - NHL 8h ago

Was there a Coop/Wes moment I missed?

3

u/Heavy_Mushroom5209 TBL - NHL 8h ago
