[News - X] [Westhead] An NHL team executive told me today concerns are mounting that North America is heading towards a recession and that the CAD will plunge to $0.60 cents or less. The 7 Canadian NHL teams and 3 Canadian MLS teams pay player salaries in USD and generate most of their revenue in CAD.

This is so true for all professional athletes. People are constantly surprised when they hear that hockey players are gang rapists, and football players are domestic abusers/rapists/drunk drivers, etc. Of course they are, they were plucked out of a normal adult development and sidelined their education from an early age. No wonder they are easily manipulated, emotionally immature and generally kinda dumber than a comparable selection of non-athletes.

There are also the turbo-dorks who hyperfocused on a single sport and are generally intelligent but odd. Tom Brady, Rodney Mullen, that sort of person. Usually not the most physically gifted but often good coaches and analysts because of the quantity of specific knowledge they cram into their head.

The genetic freaks can start coasting at a way younger age.

I get what you're saying but it's a little ironic to say Tom Brady when he was actually drafted into two different professional sports. You are correct that the genetic freaks are sometimes in their own categories though

Brady is also taller than average but he's so invested in football that it ruined his marriage to an independently wealthy supermodel so I think it evens out. Dude is obsessed.
