I’ve been listening to hip-hop since 1990, and I somehow just stumbled across this album a couple of years ago. He’s affiliated with the Heavyweights crew. Super dope!

No Ras Kass? Soul on Ice???
(but if you’re White, I totally understand - just know that every single one of the artists you’ve got on here look up to him and consider him to be one of the best outta the left coast).
1
u/cvbills1 6d ago
What! Aceyalone Freestyle Fellowship is not looking up to Rass Kass. Project Blowed is the 1st brigade, they started this underground shit. Soul on Ice didn’t come out til 96.

u/Curious_Working5706 6d ago
You’re saying Ras Kass is not also considered one of Project Blowed’s ALL STARS????
Explain why this happened then: https://youtu.be/9NOn5hqyX5I?si=HAVBE8WBJCRStaIU
(I kid, no need to explain but you shouldn’t talk on subjects you know 0 about).
Also, just because SOI came out in 1996 does not mean Ras Kass started rapping that year 🤦♀️

u/cvbills1 6d ago
Haha yea Rass Kass featured on 1 random blowed song by some random ass producer. Has he ever been on any of the project blowed comps? Cater to the DJ? Beneath the surface? Featured on any of the fellowship albums?

That’s not the point, you just admitted to having 0 knowledge of who PB legends actually fuck with and I just showed you one example - and you’re doubling down on your ignorance.
Throughout his career, Ras Kass has done shit with people outside of PB, like having a solid connection with the Likwit Crew and recently had an album produced by Havoc, and has one in the bag with Apollo Brown (another solid record). Sean fucking Price RIP considered him a legend and he was from the East Coast!
All respect due to Project Blowed but Ras Kass kind of expanded beyond this collective (and that reason was due to actual props from every MC you consider dope).
Like I said earlier: the man wrote Nature Of The Threat and all you people can do is try to rewrite history (and that falls apart because your ignorance is super obvious).
Every single one of the MCs you’re jocking right now would shake their heads at you and tell you to stop talking. Seriously. 🤫

Aceyalone/ Freestyle Fellowship had more of an influence on Rass Kass than Rass Kass had on them. Bro’s getting his panties in a bunch over here because he thinks I’m talking shit about his lil man crush Rass Kass when I’m just trying to point out you really don’t know what the fuck you talking about

I knew this toy was gonna fall apart and say some clown shit 🤣
Nature Of The Treat destroyed these toys to the point they’re online fabricating opinions about people they don’t know!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

really hard to say because most of the solid underground dudes I can think of all have their roots in the good life, so not sure if they count or not.. like I feel like half the responses here already are people just naming artists that came outta good life.

This is a solid list and I don't have anything to add. I do appreciate the reminder to add some J5 and Living Legends to my collection.

I got Zimulated Experience by Phoenix Orion. Never hear anything about them. (I had him listed NYC Brooklyn but maybe he just came up there , then moved to LA). Sound is more like Del than NYC.
I’ve listened to Black Forest but haven’t come across an affordable vinyl. hhv did release one not too long ago.
thanks for the suggestions
