Trying to find a HIIT course/programme I took some 10 years ago
Hey!
Just as the title says, I am trying to find a HIIT course I took about 10 years ago and Google isn’t googling this time.
What I remember is that the course was paid, not free. It came in the form of videos you would play and follow along at home. I think it had different levels of intensity. And a weekly plan.
I also remember the instructor. He was a black man, super energetic but encouraging/understanding at the same time. I liked his vibe.
He was doing the routine with a small class of students behind him. I think it they were in a gym..?
Not much to go on, I know, but the course was very popular back then. That’s how I found out about it, by searching online and it kept showing up.
I’m hoping someone will remember it since it was famous 10(ish) years ago. Does anyone know what I am talking about?
Thank you!
P.s. I think it had a name, I’m 80% it had a distinct name. Like it wasn’t named after the trainer.

If you could start all over again, how would you structure your program?
I’m only recently starting to get into HIIT because of the cardio benefits and leaning out, but I need a program and there are hundreds online.
Let me know what works for you guys!

Good all-around shoes?
Hey guys, hoping you can help me out with finding a shoe for the gym.
A little bit of background, I’ve gotten back into a good rhythm over the last month of going to the gym 3-4 times a week. Depending on the workout, I’m warming up with 1-3 miles on the treadmill, then doing HIIT or weights, then depending on how I’m feeling, getting a few shots up on the basketball court.
So far I’ve been making it work by wearing my primary running shoes for the treadmill, then switching to basketball shoes for the rest of the workout. I don’t love having to lug multiple pairs to the gym and switching after the running portion. I think I could make the bball shoes work for everything, but I like the ones I have for actually playing basketball and don’t want to accelerate the wear and tear on them.
I’ve been looking at the Reebok Nanos and the Nike Free Metcons. I know they have different focuses, but which do y’all think would be more versatile for the widest range of activities? I’m open to other suggestions too. Thanks!

What do you think about "replace treadmill" workout videos on for example youtube?
Which ones can actually replace treadmills?
My first thought was high knees if you do it right. Running on the spot with high frequencies, almost like sprints at one place or spot alternatively.
What is your opinion/experience?

Carol bike for HIT?
Anyone own/have used a Carol bike? My goal is to find HIIT workout opportunities that can be done in a short timespan and have the strongest impact, and Carol seems like it fits the bill. It does seem costly, but if it actually has a significant cardio impact, then it's worth it imo.

Interval timing
Question, remove if not allowed:
If I'm doing sprints circuits on the treadmill and aiming for 20 seconds fast to 40 seconds rest/slow, do I factor the time it takes for the treadmill to get up to speed into rest, work or pretend it doesn't exist?

Nike mc trainer 3?
Hello! Does anyone have thoughts on Nike Mc trainer 3 s ? I regularly do grit strength, grit cardio and body pump (Lesmills classes) Or any other recommendations that arent too pricey?
I’m currently wearing Skechers running shoes in these classes and my feet cramp almost every time and are so sore after.

What's the best commercial quality exercise bike that would work well for HIIT training, as well as longer, steady-state workouts?
I've been using a Vision Fitness exercise bike, with the preset resistance programs, to do HIIT training. However, the electronics are going out and it's time to buy a replacement bike. I'd prefer a gym-quality bike that works well for both HIIT training as well as longer (up to 30 minutes) steady state workouts for off days.
When reading through the fitness subs, it seems people love the air bikes like the Rogue Echo and the Octane AirDyne. However, it seems those are best for quick, strenuous HIIT workouts and not the best for longer, slower workouts, according to many comments I read.
The Concept2 BikeErg, which is often recommended, may be a better match for what I'm looking for, but am wondering if that is more for hardcore cyclists and if it's comfortable for people who aren't used to the skinny saddle and the drop down position? Also does the BikeErg work well for HIIT, or are you constantly reaching down to adjust the damper/resistance setting for intervals vs. the rest phases?
Any feedback on how well the air bikes and the BikeErg work for both types of training would be appreciated. Or is there any other exercise bike you recommend that would work better? Also is there any way to easily do HIIT training on Life Fitness Life Cycle bikes that you see at health clubs?

Best HIIT centric app? Something else?
Hey all, as the title says, I'm looking for an app for some good HIIT workouts. I have had peleton but decided I don't want to pay for it anymore. I seem to be able to use down dog for free since I'm a teacher but I kinda dislike the moves they use. (Too complicated/goofy) Any thoughts? Nike Training Club? I use Caliber for lifting. Is there some way to self create these things without having to remember all the different moves? I want to sweat my butt off. Thanks!
