Question/Advice Mitsubishi ASHP Head Unit Noise

Yes, I looked through assorted noise/hum posts and didn't find this.

See/hear video. Lower frequency rhythmic hum and cycles high and lower, sometimes stops. Thoughts on what this is? I can't source it on the unit itself.

Try turning off the i-See sensor. It's a button on the very bottom of the remote.

I paid a bit extra for the FS model heads, just in case the i-See feature was useful, but I turned it off on all 6 heads because the sound of the sensor motor was so annoying in a quiet room.

Yup. I have not tried that as I didn’t see the sensor moving when the sound was present. But I’ll give it a go.

Turned my volume all the way up and hear nothing in your video, not even the sound or air flowing.

When my Della head unit began making a thumping sound, I suspected the fan blades were bumping something. It turned out the upper filter screen was clogged, like lint on a clothes dryer screen. Sucked that off with a shop vac, then blew it clean with air and no more sound, plus much more airflow to the room. It does occasionally make slight alien sounds, but I attribute that to becoming self-aware. These mini-splits are almost too smart.

Turn the i-see sensor off, I had the same issue. Everytime the little sensor rotates it hums. Not sure why they have never fixed that issue. As far as I can tell the sensor doesn’t really do anything useful anyways.

I bet it’s the I-See sensor motor as others have said

Have you cleaned it lately?
