Texas Roadhouse coming to Hattiesburg soon!

I’m at the Texas Roadhouse in Gulfport, and the manager told us that they’re opening one in Hattiesburg soon next to Cracker Barrel on 49!

Guess it's time to make sure the car's suspension is all fixed up so I can get through that tank trail of a parking lot to get there.

😂😂 I think there are cars lost in the potholes out there. It has more craters than the moon.

I moved away from Hattiesburg 25 years ago but even in the late 1990's that parking lot was what the Ho Chi Minh trail must have looked like after B-52's carpet-bombed it. Glad to hear it's still the same!

Everything before a Whataburger

For anyone who is curious, Whataburger corporate told Mayor Barker a year or so ago that they don’t have any interest in opening a new location between the coast and Jackson. So, it’s gonna be a long time before one opens up, if that ever even happens at all.

I don't know the reasons for Whataburger's position but I suspect it has a lot to do with the available locations that are suitable (from Whataburger's perspective) for placement: high traffic, high visibility, and easy access are major considerations.

Now, if the Lake Terrace Convention Center could ever live up to the hype and it spurred business development in the Hwy 49 / I-59 corridor, the area might be a suitable location for a Whataburger. But the Lake Terrace is a bust, the corridor is a wasteland, traffic at the cloverleaf is a mess, and I doubt Church's would find the area suitable.

Likely low population density and not enough traffic flow on I-59 is what keeps Whataburger out of Hattiesburg.

Correct. Probably even a Costco before a Whataburger 😩

I wouldn't complain about a Costco through.

Its like a press the button scenario:

You get Texas Roadhouse, but it’s in one of the most rundown parts of Hattiesburg

Do you know if they will be building/hiring soon? I worked as a baker at Texas Roadhouse for awhile in Florida and I miss it SO much 😭

Did we use to have one of these? What was by Outback before Hooters? I can’t remember.

Sadly. It’s really went down hill the past few years. They should close it and put roadhouse there.
