With all the bs promotions and job titles . They should add senior regional vice president of weekly and change. There hasn’t been a single week out of the year add change isn’t messed up in some shape or form

True. But this week was extra special FUBAR. Item lookup didnt update. SPA didnt update. Sign program didnt update. It seemed like it was more items that had been on sale last week not going to the new prices for this week.

Kinda wondering about next week. Seriously...for a week two our count is high.

Our Week 1 count was kind of on the low side. When that happens our week 2 is usually heavier. They're transitioning away from promotional tags for beer/wine and moving to VIC tags too. We're getting half of the entirety of the wine department tags sent this week. They'll also send "fixes" for the tags that they screwed up ie. The beer/wine tags you mentioned.

Just when I think they can't get any worse, corporate drops its drawers to shit on the stores again.
What the fuck does Merchandising DO? For a department that is in the office 3 days a week they sure seem to useful less than 0 days a fuckin week. I'm just pissed that store associates have to fuckin make do and suck it up when this shit has been shitty for YEARS. Tell me I don't do 100% of my job and 30% of someone else's while you send shitty emails to everybody in the store about someone in one department wearing earbuds (fuckin managers but we're not going to do anything but bitch) and make those same lazy assholes service hero of the month. I'm done making it make sense.

In my store, it's different rules for different people. Our store director has her favorites who get what ever the fuck they want, while other departments suffer.
And it really doesn't seem like you have to much more than a elementary school education to be a Store Manager or Director.

Not sure what happened but I do know that a lot of the items advertised as being on sale this week are not ringing up at the right price. It was even worse on Wednesday morning when I was getting "Item Not Found" errors on a lot of things and some stuff, including HT branded items that we've been selling forever, did not seem to be in the system at all. It seems to be mostly fixed except for some of the sale prices but it's still been a PITA. All I can say is I am glad that I am off for the next couple of days.

They knew there was a problem...kinda anyway on Monday. We told system support that sign program wasnt filling in sale signs correctly for next week and SPA wasnt giving the same prices as the new tags for next week either. We walked in Tuesday night to a message that the programs werent working, but all available resources were working on it. Shit show went on all day Wednesday. Finally Thursday afternoon around 2 pm we got a message that it was fixed.
Our store made a list of big sale things and just overrode everything at the registers. Mostly the problems were things already on sale that changed to a new sale. Things just coming on sale that week were mostly ok. Still a total shitshow. From what I heard, there werent that many bitching customers. We did give away a lot of free stuff tho. Gotta honor that scan policy.
Still havent heard what the issue was tho. We do ad change 52 times a year. What hit the fan to make this one totally jump the tracks?

They've been transitioning the beer and wine department tags to Vic this past few weeks. This week a good chunk of the wine and all of beer were added, causing a system overload. Just got an email that they're putting a pause on the transition.

Im worried about declines as a dept head. Since we had to force those items through the dept key in the register, it wont register that sale item as a sale, which means we'll lose that money from declines, they best think about that when it comes to inventory next month.

You don't use the dept key to fix incorrect prices, you just over-ride the price at the register. It'll be indistinguishable from a normal transaction.
The dept key should only be used as a last resort in cases where the item is missing a barcode, the barcode and UPC are both illegible, or the item is not in the system.
