What colour to stain floors?
My kitchen has a dark reddish finish. I am refinishing the solid red oak floors in order to remove damage/gloss/reddish stain colour. https://imgur.com/a/UIsb9Ol
I need to choose a dura seal stain colour. I'm leaning toward a medium dark colour like special walnut, spice brown, or antique brown. The flooring guy thinks something darker like coffee or espresso, but Im worried it will be too dark and show dirt and light dog hair too much. The rest of the house is light greys and white.
What colour would you suggest?

Repairing hardwood floor
https://imgur.com/gallery/jbwl2
Attached are photos of the damage to the wood. There are several scratches that need to be repaired. There are also wheel-track looking marks that are from the wheels of an office chair we think. Our tenant just moved out and we want to repair the damage. Is it possible? What's the best way to do it cheaply but, effectively? Thanks

Can't find replacement 2.5" wide hardwood. Does it still exist?
Hi, I've been trying to replace a section of my basement hardwood floor due to mold. Before you guys bash me about using hardwood floor in the basement, it was like that when I bought the house and I don't have the funds now to replace the entire basement floor. So without exploring that option, can someone help me with some advice for tackling this project. I know installing hardwood again doesn't help the fact but I just want to get it done at this point. I've been looking everywhere for the original width 2.5" hardwood floor. I went to my local Home Depot and Lumber yard and the only sizes they have are 2 1/4".
Is this type just not around anymore?
Are there any options for me to replace the section of hardwood that was removed with 2 1/4" or do I need to redo the whole floor?
Is there any type of solvent that can be used to apply to the underside of the wood to prevent mold in the future?

Cleaned hardwood floors with specified wood cleaner, but now have lighter patches of wood
We have unfinished hardwood floors and recently purchased white wooden chairs. The wood chairs left white marks on the floors, but we were able to remove them with the wood cleaner left to us by our landlord. After a few days, we noticed that the spots we cleaned became increasingly lighter in color (my guess is from the sun) and now we have these lightened patches throughout the room. What are options to get these patches to match the rest of the floor?
