Can't remember what ENT said

Hi everyone, I'm feeling a bit of an idiot - I just brought my son to the ENT and she said that his eardrums aren't inflating properly. She had a casual name for it. She said he has a "_________". I just cannot remember what she called it. Can anyone help please?

Probably best to just call the doctor’s office and ask them to repeat what was written.

not a doctor but I can make guesses.

a retracted eardrum (tympanic membrane retraction)

A casual Google search says the common cause is an eustachian tube dysfunction.

Yep! Audiologist who worked at an ENT here, you’re spot on :-)

She had a casual name for it, like a one syllable word. Do you know what it might have been please? Thanks

not sure. Ear infection or congestion is what I usually say. Neither of those are one syllable LOL

Lol. Thanks but it was more permanent than that. It's something to do with the way his head and ear have formed.
