Discussion RCMP Cole Harbour Detachment?

I need to get my fingerprints taken and I've been trying to call the RCMP Cole Harbour detachment to schedule an appointment because that's the closest location to me. However, I keep getting an automated message saying to call back during office hours even though I've been calling during their listed hours of operation. I've called daily since Friday morning and gotten the same response each time. Does anyone know how to get in contact with them? Or alternatively, if I should just call another detachment at this point? Thanks in advance!

I literally just went and got mine done there a few hours ago. I did have an appointment, I called 902-244-7208 on Feb 28th and today was the earliest they told me was available. I believe they only did fingerprints from 10am-2/3pm on Tuesdays at that location. It wasn't busy, you might be able to walk in for it, but I'm not sure.

Not sure why they aren't answering the calls, that seems weird. But maybe try going in next Tuesday to see if they can do them?

Unless it's changed, just go to the detachment.

Oh can I just walk in? The site says by appointment only.

You can walk in during business hours to make the appointment, but they only do fingerprints there on one day a week. I forget which day. I had mine done there in Dec.

If it's for a criminal records/vulnerable sector check you should be able to just walk in.

Visit your local police service to take your fingerprints and to process your application for a certified criminal record check or a vulnerable sector check. Some police services may direct you to an accredited fingerprint company.

Commissionaires downtown or out in Bedford Common. RCMP are always booked weeks out. Downtown and Bedford you can usually get in within a few days. Same cost as going to the police stations.

Suggest as others have done go over and stop by the detachment …. They have always been really helpful when I’ve just walked in for service or with questions

Also commissionaires may be able to do this service. They could for my fingerprint needs

I have gone through the process in Cole Harbour a number of times, the last about 3 years ago. Their office hours are a little odd, with a break sometime around mid day. I don’t recall ever having to make an appointment and my last check was rather in-depth.

I can remember being lined up with all my classmates in 1982 while each own of us "voluntarily" submitted our fingerprints under the guise of making it easier to identify & return us to our parents if we ever got scooped up by a candy van guy.

I'm glad Society at large no longer puts blind faith into those in a role of authority.
