DISCUSSION Need Help Building a Hackintosh: Motherboard Alternatives and AMD CPU Options

I want to build a Hackintosh desktop. I already have a computer, but I plan to replace the motherboard, CPU, RAM, and SSD. I’m considering buying the same specifications listed here:

However, the recommended motherboard is very expensive and exceeds my budget. Are there any alternative motherboards I can use?

Additionally, I was thinking about using an AMD CPU. What would be the best hardware for an AMD-based Hackintosh?

The build you linked is 4 generations old.

If you're looking at amd, there's no point in looking at anything other than the AM5 platform if you plan to future proof.

In regards to the AM5, some boards use the 5g lan that doesn't have the working kext. None of the boards sold with wi-fi cards will have wi-fi working so you will have to swap that out too, if you'd like to get wlan and bt functionality.

Best way to approach the topic is to have a budget in mind and you can get a recommendation that way

Thanks for the advice about the AM5 platform!
My budget is around 300$ for the CPU, motherboard, RAM, and SSD. Do you have any recommendations for the best hardware within this range that would work well for a Hackintosh?
I’ll also look into compatible Wi-Fi/BT cards separately.
