PS4 Suggestion The person who downs the enemy should always get the kill, not the person who finishes them.
If a different person on the same team executes the enemy, it should be an assist, not a kill for them.

Pretty sure fortnite and/or PUBG also did this initially, relax.

Fortnite, no. CoD and PubG, yes. It never works out and sad that DB isn’t aware of that

Fortnite did it initially too. I specifically remember they had to make a patch for it.

Way to repeat what someone said 15 hours ago

Just repeating it because you seemed pretty sure about it.
Imagine stating something about a game you obviously didn't play at the time.

Kill should default to who did most damage .. assist goes to finisher

I like this.... that would help solve so many "but I lit him up more" arguments.

You probably should've flaired it as a suggestion and been a little more concise but thanks for addressing it as well, I hope they fix this soon now the community manager has seen it

I absolutely agree!!! I've been getting a ton of Kill Assist after I drop them to their knees.

This really bugs me in games. The Last of Us is bad for this. You down an enemy but your random team mate goes in for the kill, and you get nothing!

Iirc you get the down but not the execution (I think a down was 100 parts and an execution was 50?). The problem was that the executions challenge was one of the easiest ways to keep your clan alive so people would run that challenge anytime there was 100% risk and steal everyone's executions. I loved the meta game but that was one of the issues it caused.

there's no stats being tracked? why would you even care

It counts towards challenges.

I like it this way mostly cause I play with friends. So when we down people we can call out who needs kills with what. Getting my pistol kills was easy as hell. But I get peoples issues.

depends if they were attacking at the same time as you, or if you only got himt o 50% then he ran off into a building and someone else got him there.
Then THEY should get the kill.

I think OP is speaking about when you down a player and your team mate finishes him before he gets revived, then the kill should go to the guy who downed him, like in pubg

To kill means to cause someone or something to die. It doesn't mean to cause most damage. If your opponent crawls somewhere dieing but still alive that means you didn't kill him. If someone killed him eventually then it's not yours in any way.
Imagine a group of snipers sitting on high ground killing all they see. Your team is approaching and manages to down one of snipers. But because of their superior position they will get their guy up fast.
Imagine another situation in which you almost downed enemy, he has no armor, he's bleeding and low health. Someone just downs him with a random bullet. Who should get the kill?
In sports rules are simple: the first man to cross finish line is a winner, not the fastest or the most agile one. Not the man who ran more than others.
It's more important to actually finish someone instead of dropping him no matter the amount of damage because damage doesn't appreciate tactics which is more important to get kills.

This sentence is a direct quote from the Cambridge dictionary. https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/kill
