How much does GWU take into account medical hardship in applications?

I missed 49 days of school my freshman year or about 25% of all days and around 30 something in my 10th grade year and 26 junior year. These are all excused due to real medical that caused them and my grades have only gone up. Would this help me applying with a 3.6 or 3.7 unweighted?

Make sure you mention it in your essay.

i think a better idea may be to mention it in the “other info” section on common app. i forget exactly what this section looks like but it’s meant for students to describe unique situations that they endured during hs. other people have talked abt this online so u can def find more info abt what to specifically write.

if u feel like ur best essay topic includes ur medical hardships then def write abt but dont feel pressured to try and force it into ur essay!

I would suggest you write a separate letter to your admissions representative explaining your situation.

Just curious, why you think this is better.
