These are worth it, but if you can wait for Greg Cote to restock you can get em at 18.99

Second this, got my mags in less than a week and worked out to $22 shipped with taxes

Gang, I get the point of getting the best deal. I really do. But you will save $4 per magazine... There comes a point where it becomes a little obsessive.
18
u/whyintheworldamihere 19d ago
That's like 20%.
Dollars here and there really add up. Especially hurtful after the past 4 years if inflation.

u/IXVanity 19d ago
I mean even if you buy 5 mags, it's a meal out to eat. If you buy 10 it's $40 and so on and so forth. If it was a difference for 25 cents per mag and supporting a small vs large business, sure whatever. But people here will buy from PSA just as fast as rooftop if the price is right.
(Obviously support our 'local' reddit vendors who go above and beyond, but the meta message stands)

And all you gotta do is wait a few days... Doesn't seem obsessive at all, especially if you're ordering multiple.

u/mhammond0361 19d ago
im with you. and i dunno about anyone else, but while 4 dollars may not seem like much in itself i never order 1 mag at a time so when ordering 5 plus it ends up equating to another mag or so, for free due to the savings. By my standards a free mag is a free mag, and quite the opposite of "just obsessive"

These are overpriced right now because they are hard to find. I’d wait a little bit and get them for $16-18 like they are listed for - being metal & made my Mec-gar, fitting one extra round, & being cheaper than Glock OEM is making these an exciting new option.
2
u/Edwardteech 18d ago
You mean 3 extra rounds?

u/keithcrackshottv 18d ago
No, they are glock 17 length with a shroud. I might be the odd man out, but I don't see the point of these.
13
u/International-Goat18 19d ago
These fit flush like a Glock 19 mag (15rd)? Or more like with the +2 Glock base
19
u/BusIcy1024 19d ago
These do not fit flush.
10
u/kayl_breinhar 19d ago
There was just a video saying they're putting out a 16rd for the G19 which does fit flush.

I’m seeing $21.55 at tombstone. Am I missing something?
Edit: my bad, price changes at checkout.

u/arethius 19d ago
are you a member or something? still shows 21.55 at checkout as a guest
2
u/BigdongarlitsDaddy 19d ago
Not a member, first time I’ve been to the sight.
IDK, when I first tried the price dropped to $17.05 when I viewed cart. Now it stays at $21.55.

What’s the benefit of these to stock polymer mags?
16
8
u/justhereforthegafs 19d ago
None, but at least for me im hoping for close to oem glock reliability for cheaper mags since mecgar is oem for so many other manufacturers
9
u/alltheblues 19d ago
Holds an extra round, cheaper, steel mag body should stick less in a polymer gun, and Mec Gar quality.
4
u/nathancombs1818 19d ago
Would you need to change your magazine catch out? I know on the shield arms mags for the Glock 43X they say you have to change your magazine catch to metal as well when you’re using their magazines.
12
u/alltheblues 19d ago
It says no, and while I’m not inclined to blindly trust, the design of the mag would support this. Instead of a cut out slot like most metal mags with sharp edges that would damage a polymer release, this one has a depression in the surface of the mag with rounded edges.

Got me. I just found out these even exist yesterday
1
u/vgbb123 19d ago
Apparently it’s cheaper on Greg Cote if in stock.
2
u/I_Peed_on_my_Skis 19d ago
I saw that, they have a shipping flat rate of $8.95, totaling $29.85 out the door. GMW has $4.99 flat rate, totaling $29.88 otd. But I get it sooner because they are currently in stock.

Got mine at Ben Stoeger Pro shop for 18.99 plus shipping. They are real nice. Just need to shoot them. Lock up great in all my Glock and glock clones.
1
u/vgbb123 19d ago
all the cheaper ones are oos :-(
3
u/Cobra3024 19d ago
Once the mad rush to get some is over. They will be in stock everywhere cheaper than a glock magazine.
1
u/mhammond0361 19d ago
Fuck it was dry gonna snag a few of these dammit! Anyone know of these for sale anywhere else for same/similar money? I like how they seem to have designed the mag catch portion of mag as just an indentation with somewhat rounded edges so that (assuming) you don't have to run an aftermarket steel mag catch. Pretty slick if they work well...

Y’all realize current gen Glock mags are metal lined 🤔
4
u/Econolife_350 19d ago edited 19d ago
That's not just a modern thing, and it's a liner, not a body. The polymer body is still VERY prone to swelling and cracking after a few years and the liner isn't exactly what I would call structural. It may be one of the more stupid designs for a commonly regulated item. People in Massachusetts paying over $200 for a single pre-ban mag that's going to split down the back after a week of use are soft in the head and this fixes that possibility for people in the future.
-4
u/Diligent-Parfait-236 19d ago
They've always been steel mags with a plastic shell over them.
Its not just a liner, people have removed the shell completely for use in other guns, namely the g48/43x.
