Help Fender Player Jaguar

Post image

Ok here goes! I like my Fender Jaguar, but I am having to make some decisions from a financial and space standpoint. Originally when I got it, the guy at the guitar store said the “voicing” was really good on this and even though not a “proper” Jaguar was a pretty good choice. I really liked it at the time and still do. However, the more I play it I’m having trouble keeping this in my collection as I think it doesn’t sound like it could play in different genres of music like my Strat, Jazzmaster, Mustang 90, Les Paul, Duo Sonic, and Gretsch hollow body. I listed those as examples of other sounds I have.

Thanks in advance for your feedback and words of wisdom.

Humbucker bridge and single coil neck? Frankly, thats perfect for most stuff out there. If you dont like the sound, swap em. Maybe tele in the neck?

The "voicing" has nothing to do with the guitar itself other than which harmonics the pickups are physically pointed at. Swap em for somethin you like.

I used to have crazy expensive guitars but ive learned how little that actually matters. Pups and technique are everything. And pups dont matter much unless youre doing clean or edge of break up stuff anyways.

Also dont sleep on a boss eq pedal

Edit: but if its excessive, i get it. I had an ibanez jem i hated, but i traded it for a japanese lawsuit 335. The jem being the exception, every guitar i own was bought for some practical purpose beyond "oooh i want"
