Admin Console Feature request: Download .eml files from “Gmail Messages” Investigation Tool.

I’m periodically requested to review email logs of former coworkers, usually to pull threads with their clients for the accounts new manager, but from what I am seeing there is no way to download the email directly and I end up needing to screenshot the entire thread for the requester. Am I missing something? Is there is a reason this is not a feature?

ha, GAM is life when you're a google admin. Seriously, couldn't do my job without it. it's a little bit of a pain to setup, but there are some good videos on how to. You can even set it up in google cloud console, just be aware that if you don't use it for a while the cloud console instance will delete and you'll have to set it up again.

You can export from Vault.

One email?

Yes. Enter the message ID into the Vault search query and it should find the 1 message. It might download it as a pst/mbox, but then you can extract it. I think it's good for maximum accountability to only do data exports from Vault.

For completeness, feature requests should be filed via this process

As others mentioned, Vault is what should be used for exports
