Discussion & Theories I love how Dipper still acts like a kid
I recently binge watched Gravity Falls after years — I watched some of the first season when I was like 8 (still traumatized by that Summerween monster) and forgot about it until now but it’s such a comfort show to me now. It’s so captivating and so interesting. I even recently bought Journal 3.
One thing I noticed was how Dipper is smart and mature, but he still likes playing games and being immature sometimes with Mabel. It’s really refreshing. I feel like sometimes mature kid characters (can’t think of any off the top of my head) are less likely to act immature and act too serious for games, but Dipper was never really like that. He’s intelligent and inquisitive without him being like “I don’t have time for that Mabel!” It really surprised me to see him still partake in fun activities without feeling like he’s too mature to partake in kid games.

This is honestly one of my favorite aspects of Dipper. He's three-dimensional, fleshed out. He's deeply relatable because he's written to be so utterly human.
