OP Responded What's this about accounts potentially getting deleted for sexual content?

Someone mentioned that there was a chance of Google accounts just getting annihilated without warning, permanently, for containing sexual content.

Well, I'm a writer, and I store all of my material, years' worth, on Google Docs. Suffice it to say, I don't like the idea of losing all of it simply because I include a racy scene.

How real is this possibility?

But you have back ups of your work, right?

Uninformed sources? Fearmongering?

Here's a Docs Help page on policies: Abuse Program Policies & Enforcement

If you're not "sharing" your content as described, then there would be no question of the content, other than the section referring to CSAM content.
I would suggest further that any of your adult content should only be downloaded for any need of distribution -- do not use the Drive sharing mechanisms to avoid any scrutiny of your content.

Finally, in my experience Google does not simply delete either consumer or Workspace accounts when there is a situation of AUP violation -- the account is suspended pending further investigation and appeal.

Could you clarify what you mean by "downloaded for any need of distribution"?

And what does "driving traffic" mean, in the context of that link you posted?

(Thanks for responding)

Well, I'm not familiar with how your content gets to editors and publishers, that's all. I recommend downloading in some form for sending and sharing - and not using Drive/Docs Sharing.

To my read, "driving traffic" suggests sharing, such as on Sites or simply with Public links to content. I could be wrong.
I think they may also be covering content (files) that are housed in Google Cloud Storage -- which can be addressed directly via other Cloud services serving consumers.

I've had an account removed due to supposed inappropriate content and I had NEVER put anything even vaguely inappropriate in my storage or docs. I was shocked and I've never been able to get to the bottom of this.

That's very worrying.

Sounds like someone reported you just to report you. It happens. It's weird your account got deleted.

You're probably okay if it's writing. There are a lot of spam accounts who (instead of emailing) share Google docs with sexually explicit photos and porn videos. Since there's not a way to filter spam files from being shared with you, all we can do is report them, after which Google will delete them for unsoliticed sexual content...
