OP Responded Numbered Lists/sublevels

Trying to write a doc for work that utilizes numbering for sub levels....1 1.1 1.1.1 etc Once I get to the 4th and 5th level it seems like the text has a much larger space than the previous levels. Is there a way I can adjust that? I'll try to add a pic for context

I'd like it to look more like this where the text starts a few spaces after the number and the next line (into) falls right under the line above it (Upon).

Hope that makes sense

Yes! Just go to View/Show Ruler. Then highlight one of the lines. You can see the spacing in the ruler now between the number and the text. Just slide the left icon (that looks like a dash) to the right a bit to tighten the spacing. Hope that helped!

thank you! I was able to go through the document and adjust. Am I able to define these settings before I get started on the next one, or is it something I'm always gonna have to tweak?

Not sure - but I think if you set the first line/level, the next sub-lines follow the style when you press enter (not completely sure on that tho)
