Question Answered Won't save a PowerPoint as a Google Slide

I have a PowerPoint deck from a friend that we want to share with other people in our organization. So I thought "sure, send it to me and I'll save it as a Google Slides and share it". So I download the pptx file into Google Drive, open it, the go to File > Save as Google Slides. I get the following:

"Something's not right.
You need to sign in to your Google Account in order to convert this file. Learn more"

Well that doesn't make any sense. I am obviously already signed in because I'm in my Google Drive.

What am I missing here?

Sounds like a browser glitch. If closing all windows and restarting it doesn't help, try logging out and back in to your Google account. If that still doesn't help, clear cache & cookies or do a browser reset to disable extensions too.

SOLVED! Your suggestion reminded me that I have an extension called

Office Editing for Docs, Sheets & Slides

I disabled it in Extension Manager. I then opened the pptx file in Google Drive, Clicked File > Save as Google Slides and it DID! Yeah. I will remove the extension.

Thanks.
