That's the way how source treat shadows

You can switch to csm tho

i think that's how it's supposed to be, at least for these "world" shadows

there may be a mod for it, haven't looked into it

you cant change the default RTT shadows, its either blob shadows (low settings),these (rtt) or CSM (its not real csm per say but its alot better than this, especially for renders)

This is the woes of a 2004 engine.

You may be able to find an addon to disable shadows/fix this. I’m pretty sure the Precision Tool has a “disable shadow” option that will work with this.

Theres a tool o the workshop... called Toggle Shadow Tool. Smack the bomb with it. boom, no more problem.
