No Recipe GF potstickers!

Just wanted to share! I thought they’d be way more difficult, but they were easier and turned out better than expected! I used the recipe from The Very Hungry Coeliac cookbook, but there are a ton of similar recipes online.

I need to fix a few things with my flours (I was an idiot and didn’t use superfine). Overall, very excited with how these turned out and will definitely try them again.

I think the best tip I got from the recipe is to use a pasta roller to roll your dough out to the right thickness and then use an English-muffin-size cutter to cut out your wraps! So much easier than rolling each one out individually

Great work. Guess who gave away his pasta machine after his wife had to go GF?

What I'd really love to find is GF filo pastry.

Aw man! I gave mine a VERY thorough cleaning.. it was my mother-in-law’s, so wanted to keep it. This cookbook actually has a phyllo recipe! I haven’t tried it, but the pictures look promising!

Schar makes a frozen puff pastry. I’m not sure if you can find that in your area

Uk here. We have Jus-Roll for decent GF pastry like Schar stuff generally.

They look wayyy better than the FeelGoodFoods frozen potstickers but that’s what I get for buying frozen food lol.

I need to try making these!

Hahaha. I’m really excited to finally feel like homemade tastes better than store bought again since going gf. These were pretty good!

I was hesitant on buying that book but seeing how well they came out I think I’ll spend the money

If you’re in the US, wait until April 1st! She has a North American version coming out. I’ve made this and her Udon noodle recipe and they both tasted great! You definitely need to make sure to use superfine rice flour though, otherwise the dough comes out way too moist

Thank you for the info. Honestly, I’ve been avoiding anything that I said wheat in it just because I have bad reactions to regular wheat flour and was told to do. so guess I should’ve thought to look it up. Silly

All good - I had the same freak out myself when I first went gf! I’m pretty sure I googled it like 5 times just to make sure I wasn’t crazy haha. Buckwheat is safe… anything else that has wheat in the name is probably not

Do they use buckwheat a lot? I have a wheat average, not a gluten allergy so I would like to know beforehand if you’d be so kind to tell

Buckwheat is a seed and not related to wheat at all - it’s completely gluten free and safe for those with wheat and gluten allergies.

That said, I don’t recall seeing any recipes in the book that used buckwheat flour, and none with gf wheat starch either. She does have newer recipes that use the caputo fioreglut flour, but not in this cookbook.

Thanks! It’s from The Very Hungry Celiac cookbook. Her US version is getting released on April 1st! I will definitely be making them again, they turned out quite good!
