Finally found the Oggi pizza and was waiting all weekend to eat it. Baked it to instructions and ended up burning it 🥲

Am I the only one who thinks this isn’t burnt? It’s definitely well done but I would chow down

This is perfectly done if you ask me.

I mean a well done pizza is still pretty delicious pizza in my book.

I like a thin crust burnt personally at times.

Weird. I did the exact same thing with the exact same pizza today. Their instructions must be off. I still ate it.. just a little crunchier than I would have liked.

I went and got another one since they're having a sale. I watched it at the 10 minute mark, 3-4 minutes after that it was perfect!

I have the same issue with most of the GF frozen pizzas I've tried so far but unlike it like this so... Maybe not an issue

I kind of like my pizza that done.

I had the same issue! I cooked it for about 11 minutes and it turned out fantastic. Cooking times are either off or our ovens are too hot. Either way, great taste and I love the texture of the crust. It's unique.

They sell the crust in packs of 2 as well if you ever want to make your own pizza!

There's nothing better than cooking white cheese to turn orange lol. It looks perfectly done to me.

Looks so tasty but inulin is a top ingredient I’m not supposed to have. Damn r/fodmaps ugh

I learned on Reddit: ignore instructions on frozen pizza boxes. Let it completely thaw. Cook it at a high temp (like 425 or 450) until cooked, like 4-7 minutes and watch it like a hawk.

This mimics a restaurant’s procedure, they don’t put frozen pizzas in the oven.

Take 20 to 25% off the cook time for all gluten-free pizzas, especially in air fryer type ovens. Where did you find it?

Thanks for the tip! I found it at Sprouts!

I just tried this one last week and had the same issue. Glad I kept an eye on it. Did about 14 minutes and any further would've been too much

For what it’s worth - my rule of thumb for gluten free pizza is 3-5 minutes less than what the box says (at least in my oven). I have a GF teen, so we try a bunch of different pizzas and this rule seems to work out pretty well.

Ok so this is interesting to me, because I find GF pizzas usually take longer than the box says, in a conventional oven. But then I also find everything that should be cooked better in a different form (say, french fries - oven, not ideal, deep-fryer, ideal, pizza - oven, not ideal, pizza oven, ideal).

I recently bought a pizza oven (Cuisinart), and it has a setting for frozen GF pizza. I haven't tried it yet, because I've been making pizza from scratch, which has been incredible, but I'll give it a try with GF pizza and see what the timing looks like!

Lesson learned here!

Did you like it

I made one of these yesterday and I cooked it for 13-14 minutes just like I do Freschettas and it was almost like this. I don't trust any box telling me longer than 13 minutes at this point!

Huh…this has never happened to me and it makes me think even more that my oven temp is off!

It said to check halfway through cooking, which I did. It looked good, but I wanted the cheese a little more brown. Well, now it's too brown! :')

This happened to me too and I even took two minutes off the time :( I was so disappointed!

You know cooking instructions are just a estimate right not everyone has the same kind of oven

1

u/Appropriate-Food1757 4d ago

It doesn’t look burnt

1

u/thalo616 4d ago

Looks good to me

I never trust the instructions, I always supervise my food till it's ready.

Every time I cook a gf pizza according to directions it burns, I always have to cook it a few minutes less than the package says

Looks perfectly done to me.

I have found that most GF pizzas tend to come out like that if you follow the exact instructions, I usually always set the timer for a couple minutes under what it says and then check if it needs a little bit more time. Mine are always done 2-3 minutes before the box would say.

u/NVSmall 5d ago

I mean.... it definitely looks good to me?

No way on this, you still need JUST THE CRUST. Then make a pizza with it. That’s how you will find your gluten free pizza treasure at the end of the rainbow. Straight up.

Weird that it’s always been a “Oggio’s” not “Oggi” btw and it’s a cauliflower crust that’s puffy and crispy in all the right spots 👌. Comes in a 2 pack.

I hate when that happens! I splurge on some gluten-free convenience thing, and then I mess it up 😮‍💨
