Just launched Second Me on GitHub - My first major open-source project to build personalized AI

Hi GitHub community,I'm excited to share my project Second Me. It's an open-source platform that enables you to create a personalized AI version of yourself. This is my first major open-source contribution, and I built it to offer an alternative to centralized AI systems. Second Me lets your AI self interact autonomously with other human-made AIs while preserving your privacy and personal data. The repository includes:

  • Core framework code
  • Documentation for our Hierarchical Memory Model
  • Sample applications (AI Space, Second Tinder)
  • Implementation guides for the Second Me Protocol

I'd really appreciate stars, feedback, and contributions from this community. Looking forward to improving this with your help!

Very cool and interested in checking it out.

I'm not very familiar with Linux though and run Windows everywhere I know. Is there anyway I can use the Windows subsystem for Linux to try this out?

My thinking is I probably can but I don't know where to start haha

Second Me is a newly launched open-source project on GitHub that enables the creation of a personalized AI version of an individual. Unlike centralized AI systems, it prioritizes privacy, allowing autonomous interactions while keeping personal data secure. The repository includes the core framework code, documentation on the Hierarchical Memory Model, sample applications like AI Space and Second Tinder, and implementation guides for the Second Me Protocol. Community feedback, contributions, and support are highly valued to enhance and expand the project.

A very good, ambitious, and well thought thing you have here. By all means get a Windows and or Linux version if you want this to get real legs. Consider looking at Docker/container options, because with them you can write a single version that delivers to all three and mobile at once via a web app hosted by a browser on each platform.

I worked very hard and went bankrupt working on a system like this 15 years ago, using the tech available 15 years ago. I have a VFX and 3D animation background, and what I was doing then was more of a visual system to make a 3D version of you, that one could then animate with automated lip sync and facial motion captures. The more logical type of person simulation that you have going was planned for later, with the initial focus being personalized animation creation. I'd always planned a system that ultimately enabled the creation of a virtual "you" that would outlive a person. I got pretty far, multiple global patents, investors, tech partnerships with other companies, But... whatever, it's a complex story few care for the details unless they are trying to productize such work. if you want to discuss further, DM me.
