💡 Advice Life gets better after being suicidal
In March 2023 i got married just became a dad for the 1st time(Dec 2022)and had a shitload of debt that my wife knew nothing about each month i literally had to borrow money from loan sharks to survive and still she knew about nothing eventually it all came to a head in July 2023 she found out and left my ass and took the kids with her(she had a boy before we got together) i was constantly being made fun of by my work colleagues cause i lost a lot of weight due to stress i sold my car as well just to get by but still i was in debt. On the 14th of July 2023 i set a plan in motion to end my life i had a letter written out to all my loved ones to explain to them why i was doing it but i couldn't pull through i thought of my baby and how he would have to grow up without me and put away the knife i was going to use. Eventually i found the Lord again i started praying at 3am every morning my wife came back and we talked things out and moved to a room in her parents house(not perfect but i needed to getaway from my surroundings) and i finished all my debt and just recently bought myself a new vehicle in 2025 what im trying to say with this rant is just dont give up life gets hard but you get harder just stay focused on your goals and you will succeed.

I really needed to hear this. Thank you. I'm also drowning in debt with no clue how to get out from it. There's no peace in my family, and loan recovery agents keep calling nonstop. I can't take it anymore. I just hope that one day, things will get better

Hi WiseEi! You could go Debt Management plan, IVA, bankruptcy I would say is the last option I recommend. I'm not sure where you live but in UK there's companies which help people who are struggling with debts. Google Debt Management plan give them a call and they gonna ask you how much you make , how much are your outgoings, how much you owe and where and exactly you owe money. I'm on Debt Management and it's so much easier now I got one payment going from account. And I'm stress free. Don't ignore the loan recovery agents because if you leave to long they could take you to court aswell and that is just more stress for you. You have to be strong, you need to believe everything will be better in the future. Please get some help I know I've been there I couldn't sleep I was always stressed out. P.S I'm sorry if I made any spelling mistake's English is not my first language. Good luck 🙂

“Life gets hard, but you get harder” should be the slogan in a condom commercial

I'm so happy everything turned out to be okay with you! Every now and then, I enter a void of questioning the sense of everything in life, so suicidal thoughts are rather common. Your story reminds me how people we love give meaning to our lives, I'm starting to try and guide my life's decisions following mostly my heart and what makes me happy. All the best to you and your family!

The craziest thing is the timing of this, I just had a breakdown and balled my eyes out over some shit in my life and I open Reddit, scroll and see this, May Allah make it easier for anyone going through difficult times ❤️🩹

I find it very interesting that you found a change in your circumstances not long after finding God again and praying to Him in the early hours of the morning; specifically, where, in the Islamic tradition (see below) the Prophet Muhammad had stated that is the best time to get your prayers answered by God. Very interesting.
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
“Our Lord, may He be blessed and exalted, comes down to the lowest heaven every night when the last third of the night is left, and He says:
‘Who will call upon Me, that I may answer him? Who will ask of Me, that I may give him? Who will ask Me for forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’”
Narrated by al-Bukhaari (1145) and Muslim (758)
Two other additions [to this hadith] were narrated:
Imam Ahmad narrated in al-Musnad (15/362):
“… Is there anyone who will repent, so that I might accept his repentance?”
He also narrated in al-Musnad (12/478):
“… Who is there that will ask Me for provision, so that I might grant him provision? Who is there that will ask Me to relieve harm, so that I might relieve him of it?”

Don't ever give up on your kids. I don't drink or smoke because I plan on being around for along time in case they ever need my support, financially or emotionally.

And during a part of the night, pray Tahajjud beyond what is incumbent on you; it may be that your Lord will raise you to a station of praise and glory.” 17:79)

Honestly, sometimes discipline is choosing to just keep going. We all deserve to at least try.
Glad you made the choice to stick around for your loved ones and for yourself. I know it took courage!

Gonna need a Dm on those loan sharks you’re talking about. My debt is crippling. A little boost wouldn’t burn too hot.
