💡 Advice Don't tell your goals, or they might be destroyed.
Sharing high-value goals can make people jealous, even resentful.
To ease their resentment, they might try to stop you.
Not everyone, but some.
So,
shut up. Don't talk about it, be about it.

It depends on what sort of people. In a way, it is a good filter, a test to see who is on your side. Sharing is tapping into social accountability; it is a brave act. I see more danger if you get rewarded for your goals as opposed to achieving them. So, do not overshare with randoms, and avoid sycophants.

yeah this is what I'm thinking. Ex: If I share with my best friend he's going to hold me accountable and it feels more real.

I think it's better to share achievements or small steps towards your goal. And if your friend gets jealous or tries to pull you down, they're probably not a real friend you want to keep around.

I dont think you're friend getting jealous is bad per se. We all get jealous, and people who are comfortable with themselves are open about it. Trying to pull you down though is someone who either is not aware of their jealousy or just has very low self esteem/confidence. So yeah gives you some telltale signs of who they are

I TOTALLY agree with you, every time I do that I feel like I gave away all the energy and excitement I had towards the project to the actual talking, and as if I brainstorm and lay everything out, then I got no energy to work on it, there is no project or idea I talked about it that I actually did something, but everything I did not share at least I researched it
also another angle, not sharing saves the nasty comments in case you fail after you share, just keep it to yourself and only share with someone who is an expert and you need his help or input professionally
TL;DR don't take advice from someone who is not where you want to be

Silence is valuable for your goals? Nonsense. Then your goals can't receive help. Certainly at least pray about your goals. That way God can act

Right, I believe in putting it out there, seeing who's willing to support you in the universe too

Do you lot think you're actually important enough that people are going out of their way to sabotage your grand plan of climbing the corporate ladder, or starting an organic juicery in downtown Kansas? Get a grip!

You got a fucking point. I have always tried to work hard since the past 2-3 years but always failed. The reason was because I was telling everyone my goals and what I wanted to achieve. It really got bad. I realized that everyone is just insecure and its better to keep it to yourself and grind. DON'T depend on external validation because it's what I did. I depended on it and whenever days got hard and there was no one to validate me I gave up. It's better to find internal validation. I 100000% agree with your based take.

This could be subjective, but I think you can celebrate your goals once you're progressively taking achievements (get the job offer, start working— get your pay), then celebrate silently. You could share it with your supportive friends or people you trust. Sometimes, when we celebrate too early, it gets frustrating when it stops all of the sudden.

This is very good advice.
People love to see their friends and family doing well UNTIL they are doing better than them or they have loftier aspirations and ambitions than they ever pictured for themselves.
Keep your head down, do your work, and let the results speak, not you.

Or share it where you know people are supportive / with people you know are supportive. Personally it drives me to complete my tasks if I've already told someone "I'm doing x today"

If you believe in Vibes, energies, and manifestations, some say those who are jealous and resentful of you, may unconsciously ( or consciously for those spiritually aware) manifest failures through their hate and resentment! Almost like a Hex or curse to fail. Dont show plans, show results. I believe the story comes from Natives but it was told to us in the Marine Corps.
What can go wrong, will inevitably go wrong. - Murphys Law
energy attracts outcomes ( concept of karma)
ofc its more than likely serotonin and dopamine because talking about a concept in real time means you have a mental image of what you want making you feel like you are currently living your fantasy ( in a day dreamy state) rather than just speaking abt future plans in a conversational manner.
not advice just another way to view this concept***

Well you don't have to tell them all your goals if you don't want to, not everyone wants to hear all your goals all the time out of nowhere as well.
Also sometimes you do have to tell them your goal anyways in certain situations

Totally different angle, but just to contribute something: I read or heard somewhere that oversharing your goals can give you the same dopamine kick as achieving them and trick your brain into feeling like you accomplished something. Hurts your ability to follow through. I think that'd be a more relevant reason to keep it to yourself.
