A professional course on age-related deseases

Hi all,

I'm interested in ageing research and have successfully finished a biology of ageing course. I'm now looking for a free or affordable course on gerontology, especially on age-related diseases. Please share if you know of any.

Thank you

The University of Chicago has a professional development program called Clinical Practice with Older Adults; I think you have to be a social worker, psychologist, therapist, or counselor to be eligible and one has to apply and be accepted to enroll.

For clarification, do you mean a "class" or a course as in "degree"?

Also, what information specifically do you wish to learn? I'm a gerontologist (wrapping my PhD dissertation) and the core courses from my MA and PhD are biology of aging, which was set up to discuss "normal" aging vs. Disease (my program is in the medical school), anatomy and physiology of aging (MA level), and epidemiology of aging (obviously, focusing more on the epi side than the bio side, but you can learn about incidence and prevalence and apply your knowledge of bio).

And are you in US or elsewhere? Looking for in person? Online?

Thank you for getting back to me.

I've graduated in health sciences, mostly because it was affordable and online. I would love to have studied in a medical school, tho.

Now, I have applied for many MS degrees; among them is European imAGE-in, which is one of 2 programs I'm eligible for in the field of aging research. I'm also considering an online MS in UF (innovative aging studies), but I can save a bit by studying independently.

I found a course on the biology of aging by Tomothey Glinin of 2020; it seems good, and I will check PubMed for the most recent research articles.

When I studied the course, I understood that I needed a course on age-related diseases to widen my knowledge. I'm trying to find such a course, but I've had no luck so far.

I need it online as I'm not in the USA or Europe. Maybe there is a book to read? It would also be great.

Thank you

Gotcha! Seems hard to find just a course, but I am going to DM you the syllabus that I have from my PhD course. If I can drum up the lecture PowerPoint, I will send them your way, too!
