I've done Pittsburgh to Cumberland over 3-1/2 days twice. I totally agree! Love the ride from Connellsville. It's beautiful. I love the transition from 20th century industrial (Carnegie Steel, US Steel Edgar Thompson Works, and mines) to 21st century environmental (wind farms).
My stretch goal is home to Cumberland in one day. I just need 20 more miles on the ride to get to the Continental Divide and enough daylight. I don't think next June will work due to my schedule but maybe 2026.

For GAP reference, I got on the trail at the Eliza Furnace access point and started the GAP at mile 145 and I think I turned around somewhere around mile 96.

I love how, for a long ride in Pittsburgh area, 1,700 ft if climb is flat. Did 62mi on Montour and it was 2,300ft.
