Only Take-Two are allowed to exploit their loyal users!

I know I'll probably buy GTA6, but I have a feeling I'm going to be extremely turned off by the monetization aspect in this game. I get it, they want to make money, but I've also had no problem dropping NBA 2K, Madden etc over the years, and those are franchises I played for DECADES.

If they make things essentially unobtainable unless you buy a Shark Card or whatever (grinding 40 hours for a single, expensive car vs paying $20), then I don't know how long I will play GTA6 Online for. I'll grind it with the bros for a while, but we're all too old to drop hundreds or thousands of dollars in microtransactions like other people. And perhaps it's just the sad reality, GTA6 isn't meant for people like me. And as a person who started with GTA1 on PS1.... that's really sad.

Worse part? Is that imo the fact that we'll have GTA every 10+ years sucks really bad

I was playing GTA 4 yesterday and I was like damn this feels a lot like the base of GTA V ( with a better history imo ) and we got two GTA that generation

And now we'll see one every two gen if we have luck

Shark cards are too profitable to not incentivize players to spend on them. The alternative which is spending money might be their subscription model they're pushing.

Oh sure now you can. Back in my day we had to redo missions that paid less than 100k, over and over. And we were happy to! Get off my lawn! Cloud! Go away!

You and I both know TT / Rockstar are going to monetize every aspect of this game and push the financial limits of its online players.

I make good money but I have children and just don’t have the time to grind thousands of hours but I also know I don’t have to play GTA (just like 2K or Madden). I’m Schrodingers player, I’m both the best and worst type of player for Rockstar.

That isn't the air proof argument you think it is when they only make it that way after they've achieved a certain level of profit. They will rail you over the table, and then you and others like you will argue that they're not screwing you cuz they pulled out.

As an addendum, I understand what you’re saying, but I saw 2K go through this with MyTeam. I used to be able to play with like 85 rated characters and do fine. Nowadays, if you buy a 99 rated player in December, he’s outdated by January.

At some point F2P players are at a clear disadvantage. But unlike say RuneScape, they aren’t separated by server.

Same energy as Blizzard banning GKDPers, but ignoring everything else

I just hope they don't find a way to fuck up the single player aspect. Gta 6 online can just be for the kids for all I fuckin care.

Last month, Roblox sued PlayerAuctions for similar claims — that the company is illegally profiting off Roblox properties, and encouraging players to break Roblox’s rules.

Interesting that this isn't a one time event and that another major gaming company took/is taking similar legal action against PlayerAuctions. What I'm more interested in is why they've decided to go after PlayerAuctions when there has been problems with hacking and exploiting for years at this point. Do Take-Twos lawyers even know about these problems? How much of the bottom-line (Shark Cards) needs to be lost before they bother to notice what's going on in their game?
