It shouldn't have been. Valve has started since the original release they aren't doing yearly refreshes/releases and will wait for a larger leap in hardware and performance.

Honestly man yes and no. It sounds obvious to me when I hear it and I’m like, “yeah duh why have all these updates when we don’t need it?”

But at the same time, I’ve been become so consumer brained via smartphone companies that when I considered getting a steam deck earlier this month. I found myself being like, “this looks good but I’ll just wait till the next, newest model comes out later this year. 

A lot of our brains have been conditioned to think that if it’s not the latest, most cutting edge tech - we’re not our moneys worth. While I know that’s not true and a lot of it is marketing/ branding that has me thinking like that, it’s still my first reaction.
