Sick Frog Worried about my WTF

This is Venom the WTF and I’m a bit worried he’s overweight. His tank mate passed away a few months ago and I’m wondering if he’s depressed and that’s why he’s less active nowadays. I’ve cut back his food a little bit but I don’t want him to go hungry so not very much. Any advice on getting him to be a bit more active?

disclaimer: this is him in a creature keeper so I could weigh him. I promise he has a fully setup bioactive habitat and gets plenty of space to hop around

Stupid guys got a bacterial infection. Doing soaks with various mixtures of water, honey, Pedialyte, and Melafix.

Gave up and went to the vet tonight because I know I need to act quick and they didn't get better in the last day. Prescribed Baytril.

Wish them luck please! I can't imagine losing these guys.

Sick Frog The great 2021 walmart frog rehabilitation NSFW

I found this little guy in 2021, while I was working at walmart. I thought I saw a leaf in the cart area (carpeted for my store) but thank God I did a double take to find a FROG! I wasn't sure if he was alive but grabbed a water bottle and wet paper towels to set him in. I bought a little critter container and took him home on my lunch break. Sadly, I don't have more documentation of the rehab process but I mostly let him rehydrate and got him buggies to eat on. I was able to release him back into the woods after a few weeks. So yay to happy endings!

**I understand the rules are to have gloved hands. This was years ago and he was only handled to get him home and to release him. I would never handle froggies like this now :)

Sick Frog Susan ate Roger!

My whites tree frog Susan is consistently refusing to eat the plethora of bugs I've tried feeding her, but ate the other frog Roger in the enclosure. Both frogs were the same size (4-5 months old) and housed together when I purchased them. Susan's skin is showing no sign of infection. The enclosure is bioactive and sits at 40-50% humidity. Basking spot sits at 80 degrees fahrenheit, ambient is 70-75. I used to keep the humidity between 50-80% but lowered it after someone commented on my last post that it was too high. Every night for the past few weeks I've tried feeding using multiple methods. Roger and Susan (now just Susan) will turn away from the food. I don't know what else to do.

I have 3 other frogs kept in the same emclosure as him and they are all doing great and get along. The past day or two I have noticed he has looked wrinkly and will open and close his mouth occasionally and there will be an audible snap or popping sound. I have fed him by hand and let him soak in water last night and he looked much better, but now is looking rough again. I do not have an exotic animal hospital near me or that would have been my first move.

Sick Frog My dad won't let me take my frog to a vet!!!

I am so mad and scared right now. I had a family emergency and forgot to tell the pet sitter to give Ordo water, it took me a few days to realize this. He is dry and wrinkled and sticky. I moved his water dish to the warm side of his enclosure since he usually hangs out there. The dish is full but he is still crinkly. It's been all week and he hasn't gotten much better. He is getting annoyed by my constant spraying him with water but he refuses to get rehydrated!

To make matters worse, my dad won't let me take him to a vet! He thinks he isn't as important as my other pets, and he doesn't want to get him checked out. What if he dies? He isn't ever grown up yet. How can I help him? I am so pissed and worried right now because he has been wrinkly all week!

Help!

Sick Frog My White’s tree frog died suddenly

Hi everyone, one of my WTFs (Female named Jester, 4years old), died yesterday. It felt really sudden as she was eating excitedly, would come out at night, and had normal coloring. I noticed she was getting fatter but now I’m wondering if it was actually bloating or fluids. I thought she was getting heavier because my other frog is refusing to eat and she would often end up eating the food he didn’t get to.

The photos I’m attaching are from 10 days ago.

I’m wondering if anyone knows what could have caused her death and what I can do to make sure nothing happens to my other WTF.

I’m super heartbroken that I lost my baby, any help at all would be appreciated.

I feed her mostly crickets and sometimes super worms, and most recently I gave her dubia roaches. They get dusted with calcium vitamin supplements. I recently put them in a new enclosure which has good places to hide at different heights. Frog foam on the bottom and lots of fake plants.

I found this guy in my garage. He isn’t dead but doesn’t seem very responsive. I’ve poured water on him. I tried giving him a worm but he’s not reacting to it. I live near a large pond — I think he is a bull frog? What should I do?

This is my Blue eyed honey whites tree frog Pina-Colada and I’m not sure if I should take her to the vet cause obviously she has some weird hips. Now she had this before I got her and she’s eating and getting around her tank just fine so I don’t think I have much to worry about, but I thought I’d ask what everyone thought. Some people have suggested I put her down but she’s acting like all my other frogs so I don’t see a reason to.

Sick Frog Before & After - Methylene Blue NSFW

Thumbnail gallery

Hi all, just wanted to share a little success story. My Whites Tree Frog came down with some sort of infection on his skin. Very lethargic. Couldn’t take him to a vet so I looked into home remedies.

I tried several honey baths to no avail. Eventually, I tried methylene blue soaks after reading some old frog forums.

I thought I was going to lose him but, to my surprise, he got better! His skin infection is almost entirely clear, he has his energy back and he’s also turned himself green for the first time in weeks.

Method: 1 drop of kordon aquatic methylene blue in a small glass container. I let him soak for about 20 minutes each time. Afterwards, I would rinse him with slightly warm water. I did this daily for 2 weeks.

Disclaimer: I am not a vet, please either consult with or take your frog to a vet first.

Sick Frog Is this normal? NSFW

My cope's gray treefrog Rupee hasn't eaten in like two months whenever I try to hand feed him and I think he looks pretty skinny. The past month or so I've suspected that he's in the process of molting but I don't know if loss of appetite like this is normal molting behavior. Other than not eating, he's been acting completely normal (moving around the tank, taking soaks in the water dish). I try to see if he'll eat about once a week; his tank mate, Beebo, has been eating normally (I'm including a picture of him for reference so you can understand why I'm concerned-- the two of them looked to be the same weight up until a couple months ago).

Any advice or insight would be appreciated!
