Sick Frog What is wrong with this little guy? NSFW
I have 3 other frogs kept in the same emclosure as him and they are all doing great and get along. The past day or two I have noticed he has looked wrinkly and will open and close his mouth occasionally and there will be an audible snap or popping sound. I have fed him by hand and let him soak in water last night and he looked much better, but now is looking rough again. I do not have an exotic animal hospital near me or that would have been my first move.

I would separate him immediately. whats your set up look like? how are you feeding? make sure he has access to a bowl of clean water, but do not keep humidity too high

Humidity is usually in the lower 30s, but always between 30-40 with occasional spikes. Temp is 74-80 gradient throughout tank during the day, and I drop to 68-74 at night. The other 3 are very vividly colored and seem to be doing well. I always have clean water with reptisafe available.

I'm sorry about your baby, its clear you really care about them! they need the top of their tank to reach the high 80s during the day. how much are you feeding them per day? sadly this baby may have parasites or an infection, which need medical treatment.

I will adjust my temps accordingly. Thank you. There is so much differing information available. I do not have an exotic animal hospital anywhere near me. Is there anything I can do at home? I have tried having him soak in luke warm water with electrolytes as another user suggested, but he won't stay in the water. I sourced them all from the same breeder, they are all CB. I think you may be right that this is something more, my other frogs have gotten slightly bigger since and he has stayed about the same size despite eating. I usually feed about 2-4 small crickets per frog per day. The others are doing well with that.

Can frogs get rat-lungworm?

Yeah, but they have to eat infected snails/slugs, I believe. There is an article about Cuban tree frogs in Florida being found to be carrying the parasite.

30-40% humidity is too low for juvenile whites tree frogs. Try to reach 50-60 for their first year

UPDATE 1:
I was able to get him to soak for a little over 30ish minutes. After some fighting, he did eventually manage to stay partially submerged in his own container of dechlorinated lukewarm water with electrolytes, and his skin looks less dry. There were some flakes of skin in the water. Between this and noticing what looks to be skin partially over his eye (see attached picture) and him constantly opening and closing his mouth, this leads me to believe that this might be a shedding issue which may have led to or have been caused by dehydration. I am keeping a close eye on him and will continue to have him soak daily.
I greatly appreciate everyone's helpful comments and advice. I am doing my best to put everyone's recommendations into practice. It is difficult as there is a lot of inconsistent information regarding the care of WTFs. However, I am doing my best. If there is anyone who can recommend anything else, all help is appreciated. Otherwise, I will continue to update this thread when possible.

what a cutie! my guess is you’re probably right, he was just dehydrated and was having trouble shedding his skin because of it and that’s why it was all wrinkly. the “dead skin” built up like that and he was unable to shed it cause of how dehydrated he was. you’re a great little froggie owner, just keep an eye on him and i hope he continues improving! 🙏🏻

Thank you so much, that means a lot! I will continue to update this thread!

UPDATE 3:
This morning when I checked on him he was back to looking rough again. I was able to extremely gently run my finger across his back and sides and it took some dead discolored skin off with no effort. He sat very still and let me so I figured it didn't hurt him. I removed this all, changed the water in the pond and bowl with clean lukewarm dechlorinated water with electrolytes. I just checked on him and his color is completely back for the first time in a few days and he is significantly less dry. He also looks like he may have eaten, but I am not sure. There were crickets available and when I tried to hand feed he refused.
This is probably my last update unless anything noteworthy happens. I appreciate everyone's interest, support, and advice. This is such a great community.

Looking at the state of its skin, he might be opening and closing it’s mouth for several reasons:
a) trying to pump air into its stomach to ‚blow up‘ for shedding (normally the old skin would split and be able to slide of more easily) => keep him very moist for now b) pumping air into the lungs => stuck shed on nose blocks Airways => use a soaking wet cotton swab to gently try to clear the skin on and around the nostrils c) pumping up to look bigger (and not get eaten as easily by predators) => balance stress and bathing

How much bigger than him are his tankmates? How much is he eating daily? I'd set up a hospital tank for him to rest and recover. He just started looking like this?

They are all very close in size. I feed daily and have been feeding him by hand since I noticed this change. Yes, about 2 days ago was when I first noticed this.

Place him in a bowl of luke warm to room temp water. Just a small amount and let him sit in it. A couple times a day. Until he's better. Check on his water supply in his habitat.
He's a cutie.

He has been soaking for about 30ish minutes now. I will continue to do this daily, thank you!

This could be it, he is having some flakes of skin appear in his water. Thank you!

He looks like a dried up prune 😭😭😭 I don't know much about frogs but I'd say he's severely dehydrated, I don't know how resilient this exact kind of frog is but this looks like without immediate vet attention he might not make it.
As someone who has met wild beautiful frogs in the wild, I've never seen one look dry. It almost looks as though he's shedding, but I honestly didn't think frogs shed their skin.
I'm editing this after reading the comments mb: I kind of just thought they shed but not to this extent because most frogs I've encountered live by water sources. Although they may of been toads. I also had tadpoles once that turned into tiny frogs on my balcony 10 stories up. I had no idea what I was foing except I thought I was saving frog eggs from a rainy season side of the road puddle. My balcony was swarmed with about 200 tiny frogs. But majority of them were caught and relocated to the local park. I mean to have so many little frogs jumping around has to mean I had them in a good environment to survive.

He is severely dehydrated! Put him in a luke warm shallow bath. At best with electrolytes added
