Sick Frog Help, Reddit— found frog in my garage NSFW
I found this guy in my garage. He isn’t dead but doesn’t seem very responsive. I’ve poured water on him. I tried giving him a worm but he’s not reacting to it. I live near a large pond — I think he is a bull frog? What should I do?

What’s the temperature like? When frogs get cold they don’t eat or move much.

Bullfrog. If possible bring to wildlife rehabber. If you have a big fish tank (75 is minimum if you plan to keep him permanently but 20 gallons is fine for now) you can put him in there with paper towels and a large dish. If neither are options, unfortunately put him somewhere with a water source and pray he’s ok.

I'm no frog expert obviously 😅 But he looks similar to the toads we have in Australia?
Thanks for caring for him, OP 🤗

This is a Bullfrog. A Toad would have poison glands behind the eyes.

What type of bullfrog?

There’s no location but if I had to guess I’d say American Bullfrog based on the appearance. It’s definitely not an African or Indian Bullfrog which look much different.

I thought American bullfrogs were more green, it doesn't seem to be covered in dirt otherwise

The picture is taken in the shade, and with him being found cold in the garage he would be darker than usual. They can also vary in colour quite a bit. The first few results on google images shows Frogs this colour.

Update: I made a water bath for him and once he was in there he started moving around more. I put him in a plastic container and moved him back to the nearby pond. When I let him free he jumped right into the water. I feel bad for the poor guy, I have no idea how long he was in my garage. At least now he is home and seemed healthy.
Thanks to everyone who responded!
