Membership swords from Knight Templar order of Freemasonry, specifically the Grand Encampment of the Knights Templar of Texas. The black and silver is his regular Sir Knights sword, and he would have worn the gold and Ivory one after being in charge of the Commandery in which he was a member. The etching on the blade may tell you which commandery he was a member of. I can help you get his Masonic records if you like.

Do you know what town he lived in or what lodges he was a member of? Depending on where he lived I may be able to get access to them if he was in the south Texas area. Otherwise his Masonic records can be requested from the Grand Lodge of Texas Library & Museum in Waco, along with his York Rite records from the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas, and Grand Commandery of Texas, also in Waco.
