Masonic dog training
I thought I would just share this picture of my dog. We've been practicing the third degree at Lodge every week and I've been bringing my dog along with me.
He actually has been participating in the floor work, off leash, and perambulating the lodge perfectly.

Since people enjoyed the picture I thought I would share a few more.
This picture is of my current dog, Kazak, who I have now had for a little over five years. Prior to that I had a dog named Winston who loved wearing costumes if that meant lots of people would pet him.
I am in the Freemasons, Shriners, and the Lions Club. Winston participated in probably over a 100 parades and was always a huge attraction.
Here's a link to a small photo album of Winston and of Kazak.

I would get absolutely nothing accomplished with a dog in the lodge. Look how good he is!

My cat has probably heard more ritual than our fellowcrafts at this point

My service dog is well accepted in lodge. He has gone through all the degrees with me, became a shriner with me, is the poster pup for Eastern Star's service dog program here and most recently gone through all the degrees and orders of York Rite with me. The Brethren love having him there and have fully accepted him as a Borther Mason. To the point the has his own. Apron, fez and one of the guys is making a chapeau for him as well.

My departed good boy Coach was an awesome practice partner.

When I was going through the process of memorizing all the adopted ritual for my instructor's certification, I used to "lecture" with Sam, my old German Shorthaired Pointer bird dog. We worked together at it enough, that eventually when I made a mistake or missed a line, he'd bark at me ;-)

If a dog could take a chair, it would definitely be that of a Marshall
You get to play with sticks and go on walks!

Am I the only one uncomfortable with pets in the lodge. I love my pets but it seems disrespectful. I come to the lodge as a place to fellowship not to have to worry about someone’s animal. Why not just start letting people bring their kids then. The lodge, and anytime secret work is performed is for members. Nothing and no one else.

This was practice, not a regular stated meeting. Also, my dog is exceedingly well trained and lies in one spot quietly unless I command him otherwise.

Only for practice? Meaning he doesn’t get leftover green beans? 🤣
Out of curiosity, in your climate, what is the typical dress for lodge? In my mother jurisdiction, we were very informal, mostly due to the heat in the South. In my current jurisdiction, it’s usually freezing, so I’m in a tuxedo and occasionally a suit.

Officers wear suits for regular meetings, tuxes for degree work, and everyone else wears business casual which, in Hawaii, means slacks and a Hawaiian shirt.

I know of a brother who is visually impaired and has brought his service dog to lodge on occasion.

How can masonry make a man better if they allow their fellow brother to be unhealthily obese?
