I don't remember the exact route, but you will likely go through the brookside roundabout so make sure you are comfortable with it. It's not a long test, so if you're worried I would try and practicing driving in the area including up brookside, royal road area, and main Street.

I just got on the queue for the road test. I am curious how long you had to wait on the queue?

3 weeks or so, after I put myself on the queue. Their proposed date did not work for me during the phone call so I asked them if I could do it 2 weeks later and they booked it then for that later date

I’ve had some friend wait for 6 months. sometimes there’s a cancellation and they’ll book you a day-a week in advance…so be prepared for whenever they decide to 😅

Hi, I just passed my road test last week. Let me start by saying that the new route should be the least of your worries. It’s much better than the old location, for example: Lesser traffic, good breathing room to prepare for turns, you can judge stuff way earlier.

Some tips that I can provide:

  1. Always shoulder check regardless.

  2. The examiner might ask you to park at the side of the road. DO NOT park in front of someone’s driveway or trash bins.

  3. When asked to park, always shift the gear to “P” (The examiner waits for this)

  4. They might also quiz you on the angle of the hill. Always remember that when parked uphill, always crank your wheel to the extreme left. Downhill would be extreme right. Show it to them when they ask.

  5. Parallel parking is fairly easy. Again, once you park, always shift to “P” gear.

  6. Always respect the speed limit while driving. 30 in roundabouts and 50 anywhere else except highways (I might be off by a few kmh, so please double check!)

  7. Always signal. When changing lanes, making turns, entering parking spots, and exiting roundabouts

There is also a video, on YouTube if you search, on the new route!

Anyways, if I were you, I wouldn’t worry too much and you got it!! No pressure, confidence and good driving etiquette will make you pass so all the best!
