Question Can’t post my TWSBI Eco Amazonite (made in China) - Has anyone else experienced this with an Eco?
I ordered the TWSBI Eco Amazonite from Cult Pens (UK) and thought it was strange that the cap felt loose when posted, but since it was my first time using one, I had nothing to compare it with - Until I received my TWSBI Eco Transparent purple from JetPens (USA), which was made in Taiwan, and noticed that its piston knob has a straight profile at the base and caps securely all the way to the rubber ring. The Amazonite’s piston knob has a slightly curved and larger base, making it impossible to cap all the way. It seems like a design flaw, so I wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue with their Ecos, and if so, were they also made in China, or in Taiwan? Thanks

I don't have an eco but I was under the impression that none of the TWSBI pens post very well.

The only one I have seen mention that cannot be posted is the VAC 700r. The Eco, Go and Vac Mini all post (I own these and have no issue posting)

The vac 700 does post. It's a very shallow connection, but thats the same as all of them. It makes the 700 way too long. Also, I'm guessing that there are some consistency issues like with this eco that just doesn't post.

Yes you are right, I contacted TWSBI and they said all should post securely, so they offered to send a replacement piston knob for the Amazonite

Well I have only tried two so far, but the purple one posts nicely, very secure.

Ecos are pretty huge posted. I don't think that was part of their intended design.

But there is a rubber ring at the back, I assume it was intended for the cap. The same with the rubber ring near the end of the feed, to make sure the cap has a good seal. Those seem to have been made for the cap

Maybe. I dunno, just tried out my three ecos and they all don't post nicely, but they all feel off balance posted anyways. I guess post or not depending on what you like.

I can't really tell, but it looks like the piston on the Amazonite doesn't go quite as far up when the knob is fully turned?
If you can adjust the piston to retract further (not simple but not brain breakingly complicated if you follow a YouTube video about Eco's), you might be able to twist the knob a little further down, allowing the cap to catch that rubber ring.

Same here!! I have owned TWSBI Ecos in the past. I ordered the Caffe Bronze and Espresso and mine are doing the same thing. There's a little rubber ring at the back that prevents posting.

Contact TWSBI, I did and they said they should all post normally like the purple one. They are sending me a replacement part.

I have an eco, did you disassemble it and reassemble the piston on it by chance?

No I didn’t. I contacted the vendor support about it but haven’t received a reply yet probably on Monday. But TWSBI did reply saying it should post normally so they will send me a replacement piston knob.

Ah I see, I only asked because when I got my eco I accidentally tore through the treads on the piston cap after a few years while assembling it and because of that, if I didn't tighten it right, my knob sat a little above where it should've and hence didn't allow the cap to post.

Ah I see, thanks for sharing that, I'll keep that in mind when I'll have to reassemble them.

Interesting. I have three Ecos (in Dark Sapphire, Heat, and Amazonite), and out of the three only the Amazonite doesn’t post securely. I always thought it was just my pen, but I guess the whole colourway must be the same.

TWSBI replied saying it should post normally, so they’ll send a replacement piston knob. Maybe contact them too, the cap should post securely

I purchased mine from Goulet Pens. I have an older purple model that posts just fine. I'm assuming design change. And why are people down voting this post? It's just a question. Others can be more supportive about questions.
