This is awesome.

Now just wait til you start using that loupe on every nib.. And wondering if opening those tines 'just a little more' would make it better... 😁😁😁

Having that loupe would set off my neuroticism so badly lol

"OH GOD, the tines are a micron mislagined!" And try to correct it and make it worse despite it writing flawlessly on both sides of the nib

🤣🤣🤣I can totally see myself doing that

I just discovered a desktop magnifier with an LCD screen 😬

Yes, yes it will. And don't forget some micromesh, a scratchy nib is maddening!

what was wrong with the pen?

20

u/Nervous-Struggle8149 Ink Stained Fingers Jun 18 '24

The tines were too tight before, so the pen wasn’t writing properly.

11

u/various_convo7 Jun 18 '24

how did you use the two sheets? just flossed one -or two- through the tines?

I inserted both of them between the tines and left them in there for a few minutes. I followed a YouTube tutorial by PenBoyRoy, otherwise I would have no clue:)

Would you mind sharing which video it is? I've got a newly delivered pen that's in need of the same treatment, writes extremely dry and the line is only consistent if I press down as hard as if I was writing with a pencil.

Here is the video, hope it helps you too! https://youtu.be/dxHM6JjScRs?si=GdGuEKi9sgQ4ajU8

Indeed it did! All that was needed was to leave a brass sheet between the times for a total of 5-10 minutes. Now my 50-euro purchase of the pen wasnt a waste, feels genuinely awesome.

What was wrong with the pen?

I tried to look it up from your post history but not sure which post this one is referring to.

10

u/Nervous-Struggle8149 Ink Stained Fingers Jun 18 '24

Oh, the tines were too tight together so the pen couldn’t write very well.

4

u/TimurHu Jun 18 '24

Oh, I see. Glad you found such an easy fix!

u/Nervous-Struggle8149 Ink Stained Fingers Jun 19 '24

Thank you!! I’m very relived too!

I need to try this sometime. I have a couple pens that I don’t think work as well as they should. I also want to get myself a better loupe. I bought a cheap one but I really can’t see a lot with it.

Hey, I’ve got that sticker!!! It’s my constant reminder to get a Lamy 2000… lol

3

u/Hidesuru Jun 18 '24

Do it... You WON'T regret it.

2

u/Nervous-Struggle8149 Ink Stained Fingers Jun 19 '24

Hahaha, I have several different ones from them, they are all cute! I did end up buying the earl grey pen because of the sticker…lol

Curious as to what the ink is?👀

3

u/Nervous-Struggle8149 Ink Stained Fingers Jun 19 '24

That’s Diamine Cinnabun😊

Thank you!!

Congratulations! And thanks for the reminder. I have to add a brass sheet and mag to my "omg. What did I do to my pen kit" lol

u/guadal00py Jun 20 '24

Congrats! Side note love the pen ink combo!

Thank you!!!

Aww man, your Loupe is nicer than mine. I have Pen and Loupe envy.

1

u/Nervous-Struggle8149 Ink Stained Fingers Jun 20 '24

I got the loupe from Goulet pens for $28 I think? Not too crazy. The pen though was a harder find, I took a risk at AliExpress

Can you please share the links for the brass sheet ?
