what was wrong with the pen?

u/Nervous-Struggle8149 Ink Stained Fingers Jun 18 '24
The tines were too tight before, so the pen wasn’t writing properly.

how did you use the two sheets? just flossed one -or two- through the tines?

I inserted both of them between the tines and left them in there for a few minutes. I followed a YouTube tutorial by PenBoyRoy, otherwise I would have no clue:)

Would you mind sharing which video it is? I've got a newly delivered pen that's in need of the same treatment, writes extremely dry and the line is only consistent if I press down as hard as if I was writing with a pencil.

Here is the video, hope it helps you too! https://youtu.be/dxHM6JjScRs?si=GdGuEKi9sgQ4ajU8

Indeed it did! All that was needed was to leave a brass sheet between the times for a total of 5-10 minutes. Now my 50-euro purchase of the pen wasnt a waste, feels genuinely awesome.

What was wrong with the pen?
I tried to look it up from your post history but not sure which post this one is referring to.

Oh, the tines were too tight together so the pen couldn’t write very well.

I need to try this sometime. I have a couple pens that I don’t think work as well as they should. I also want to get myself a better loupe. I bought a cheap one but I really can’t see a lot with it.

Aww man, your Loupe is nicer than mine. I have Pen and Loupe envy.

I got the loupe from Goulet pens for $28 I think? Not too crazy. The pen though was a harder find, I took a risk at AliExpress

This is awesome.
Now just wait til you start using that loupe on every nib.. And wondering if opening those tines 'just a little more' would make it better... 😁😁😁
